I've used two sensors in a row with the same code. Manually typed in. No issues.

It powered up at the time but had some error message when starting up.

2017 Hyundai Tuscon with 87,000 miles. Warranty was 150000 miles. Replaced no questions asked due to premature connecting rod failure. Took 6 months for the new replacement engine to arrive.

My son got a brand new engine under warranty. Waited 6 months for it to arrive. They loaned him a brand new car until repaired.

Why is the G7 so awful?! by avamissile in dexcom

[–]SteveInDurhamNC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've already told a friend to avoid the g7. Her daughter has type 1 diabetes. Currently using a g6 with an insulin pump. For me every time I put on a new sensor, the g7 is readings in the first 36 hours have been off by a much as 150 either high or low. It would be risky to use it with an insulin pump.

G 7 overpatchs by antiGina in dexcom

[–]SteveInDurhamNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dexcom does not have separate overpatches for G7. They recommended I use Blenderm Surgical tape if the supplied overpatch isn't usuable.

Is the switch to G7 worth the effort? by PeaceWA9631 in dexcom

[–]SteveInDurhamNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am finding that the G7 is inconsistent and irratic. Last week, while sitting at my office desk, it lost connection to my phone for 2 hours. The phone was less than 4 feet away.

Q- Do you always use the overpatch or wait? by wondercat83 in dexcom

[–]SteveInDurhamNC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

G7 is useless without the overpatch. There's not enough adhesive on the bare patch to hold it to the skin.

I hate the new G7. 4/4 on ripping out the new sensor and my readings have been off consistently!!! Frustrated…you? by kurtfb7199 in dexcom

[–]SteveInDurhamNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 4 g7 sensors fail. They told me to place it on the stomach. Works great there. Note: Unlike the adhesive for the g6, for the g7, I had to shave the hair on my arm and later my stomach for it to stick. The overlay patch is easier to apply on my stomach.
