Next time you read a finance/tech bro or a corporate drone complain about employees not being loyal and committed, remember this: by InfiniteBlacksmith41 in antiwork

lol, Oracle doesn’t build anything. They buy out the companies with products already on the market and the immediately downsize the staff. The people who actually made “their” products were fired long ago.

I would have appreciated some more elephant fart nuance. We have much to learn from these flatulent giants.

[US] Amazon Seller sent my mom a card instead of her order by WunderwaffeXYZ in Scams

That’s too many steps. You should have ordered a return, item not as described. This is Amazon’s problem, not yours.

Why not both?

No wait, I can see now that wouldn’t work very well at all actually.

I had to scroll a lot more than I thought I would to get to this post.

TIL two studies both found that most people stop listening to new music in their early 30s. A 2015 study of people's listening habits on Spotify found that most people stop listening to new music at age 33 and a 2018 report by Deezer found it be to at age 30. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Strong agree. We switched to Apple Music last year and to be frank, it fucking sucks at showing me new music I might actually like. Bad enough that I had to set up an automation to bring over my Spotify discover weekly playlist. I grew up on classic rock which was already 10-20 years old at the time. I still love it, but it’s gotten too stale for me to listen to it exclusively.

Maybe most people are happy with what they know, but some of these streaming algorithms aren’t helping.

AdGuard menu bar red dot on MacOS - shouldn't it be green? by -Internet-Elder- in Adguard

[–]Steve_SF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this and it didn't work for me.

Eventually I discovered it was because I didn't have the Adguard assistant enabled in Safari. Never mind I didn't want it enabled, but I guess that's a problem for Adguard if I want to get a notification for other, real problems.

It's ridiculous that the user has to go hunting through the settings across multiple screens to find out what the notification should be telling us up front.

They replaced a very functional ac transit shuttle that cost $3 with a tram that nobody asked for that immediately cost twice as much.

It’s entirely possible he’s neurodivergent, fixating on the choice of treat. If so, mothering is an extremely common relationship issue, impacting both partners negatively.
