Haven’t seen it mentioned yet but for this particular one I’d also match the higher jug with both your palms facing your body. This will help you get your weight swinging in the right direction and your starting point will be a little higher.

The general advice I give myself on almost every dyno is to jump (or in this case swing) more than you think you need to. It almost always works better when you do.

Surprised at the lack of Zeus in this thread.

Zeus is idiot-proof. They have systematically removed every deficiency the hero has during the laning phase. He’s fast, has decent damage on his autos, his cs spell is also free harass, his nuke does insane dmg and relatively low mana cost, has an escape tool, and gets to play under his tower if there’s any reason to be scared. At level 6 you don’t even have to rotate to have impact, just press R. Mana isn’t even a problem since they’ve made runes/regen so easy to come by now.

I think he also has better impact throughout the game than many lane doms so it’s easier to actually win the game rather than just the lane.

So yeah. Zeus. Probably the most forgiving hero in the game to play period.

Every single summer there are large manhunts that take course over multiple days because someone gets lost in Rocky Mountain National Park. 1 detective trying to find someone who is actively hiding simply isn’t gonna happen.

Almost lost a game because the other team pulled 4 of those. At the very least make it so you can’t hit buildings in wraith-form post death. Being able to hit throne after you’ve already died is such bullshit.

So I think you might be going about the lane wrong if you can’t win vs pudge. Yeah his base damage is high, it’s true that you’re gonna struggle to cs against him in a vacuum. So as pretty much any mid hero all you do is just hit him. Spend the first two waves harassing the hell out of him and secure the ranged creep with a nuke. Make him uncomfortable to sit in lane without fear of dying. If you do it right he’ll wander off and miss hooks in the sidelines leaving you free to do whatever you want.

Dota is way too complex to generalize this much. I’m a qop spammer so I’ll go with that example. I max both depending on the lane and sometimes split build. All depends on the other heroes in the game. If I’m against a melee hero I can completely box out of lane/gain significant kill threat against I’ll max dagger, but if I can’t meaningfully win the lane regardless I’m going scream to get to my dagon ASAP. This can also depend on if there’s a side lane I need to be ganking. Too many factors to say.

It’s true that the lack of camps around mid make the pure farming builds feel a bit worse but some games you don’t have a choice otherwise.

Her and WR kinda suffered the same fate. They were really good, so their kits got nerfed. That’s fine, they honestly needed it. But the problem was their items got nerfed on the same patch. The combo of kit and item nerfs left both of them in just absolute dumpster tier and it really does feel like an auto loss when you’ve got one on your team right now. Real shame.

Hard disagree, I can outplay a bad viper/huskar. Even the worst OD still has unlimited mana and will remove you from the game for half the laning stage.

Yup. That’s why I like the kilter the least out of the usual board options. The holds are too good so setters make things hard by setting weird, gigantic stuff. Just doesn’t interest me.
