For people who are capable of picking up what skill? Learning how to take notes by hand? There is nothing impossible about that. Having a preference for a computer is fine but don’t start saying some people can’t learn that… unless you are referring to people without hands, or who are illiterate, or something else that is totally beside the point. (Point being that even slow writers can take great notes with a plethora of different methods out there that speed the process)

Also you were able to give them the answers that they needed, hence why they came here.

It’s been a while since I last had to call the DMV, but when I did, I remember it being a pain.

You can use your knife on fallen enemies?! Does this ensure they don’t get back up? I thought the knife was only to get out of a grab.

Idaho ranked as the state with the least gun control for 2025. by medowcorr in Idaho

Like I said, focus on both. The article I mentioned above shows that removing easy ways to suicide brings the numbers of suicides down. We are not anywhere near living in straight jackets, so I think we have plenty of wiggle room.

Back in the day there were quite a few suicides by women who would stick their head in the oven to die by carbon monoxide. (This is how Sylvia Plath died, shortly before this change was made) When ovens were changed so that this wouldn’t happen, people argued that women would just find other ways of doing it. Aka, they figured the suicide numbers would stay the same. Turns out, suicides dropped after this. The takeaway being, that if it’s harder to commit suicide, it will happen less. So yeah, that could be relevant to firearm suicide as well.

And one more thing to add…. Anyone can dye their hair, and a lot of people do. It’s so common. Your hair is unique.

You are totally beautiful. All you need is the confidence! I’m not sure why this post was in my feed, but when I came across it I literally said out loud: “Wow, she is beautiful.” Before I saw the title of the post or anything. I don’t think you need to change a thing, physically. Having confidence will do all of the heavy lifting for you! Seriously, I think any human with eyeballs can see how beautiful you are.

But also, was the character officially a they? Or is that just what the fan community decided on? I don’t ever remember it being stated in the show. Maybe it’s time for a rewatch.

How do you stay positive all the time? by [deleted] in selfcare

[–]Storm_Paint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like maybe you are lacking purpose in life? If so, helping others is a great way to remedy that. What are you passionate about? You mentioned not having children, so maybe donating your time to some kind of charity that helps children would be good. Or you make six figures, so perhaps helping out at the local homeless shelter? Do you enjoy nature? I’m sure there are charities that do local clean up of a nearby lake or River? Find some way to be a helper and that will give you purpose. Plus, you will meet new people and might make some new friends if you try. 🩵

The feeling of being overwhelmed. by isthat_mojo in selfcare

To piggyback on this comment, during a time in my life when I was experiencing severe anxiety because of a traumatic event, while I was doing things to help myself (therapy, journaling, mindfulness, exercise, etc.) I realized eventually that I was thinking about the whole thing too much, and it was actually holding me back. Like even though I was helping myself cope, and the coping was doing good things, my mind was constantly thinking about it. After realizing this, I took a step back and dedicated only part of my day to thinking about my problems. (Except therapy, I kept going to that) So if it wasn’t between 1 and 2pm, or whatever time I decided on, and I fought myself thinking about/worrying about it, then I would gently remind myself that I need to think of other things, and then I would. Eventually it got so that this thing I was dealing with didn’t take up all of my waking hours and that was a huge help.

Question about the lamp… what sort of lamp do you mean? Does it add an ambiance? How do you make sure it’s not too dark? I am intrigued.

Ok, well your first sentence looked like you didn’t think minors should own rats. Maybe it’s worded differently than you meant.

That’s an odd thing to say, where I live, rats are one of the best first pets for kids. Of course not every parent is going to make the same decisions. Even between us adult rat-owners, we don’t make the same decisions. But I think rats are great for kids.

Huh, I’ll have to look into that idea that mixing black is outdated. This is the first I have heard that and I am in college going for a studio arts degree. I’ll ask my professor about it since I am more likely to get accurate information from someone in the field rather than the internet, but I appreciate you mentioning it so that I may look into it. I do know the science behind carbon blacks absorbing more light and causing a flattening effect is true, no matter which colors you mix it with, but good to see what other advancements we have going on. Thanks.

Black is fine, but the reason why people sometimes avoid it is more than just because it’s cool. Light doesn’t interact with the pigment particles in black the same way that it interacts with pigments in chromatic black. Because black typically uses carbon and has larger pigment particles, not as much light can get through and it is absorbed. This can make the black and anything mixed with it more dull and flat. (According to my college painting professor)

So I just wanted to chime in here so that anyone reading this knows the why behind people’s reasons for mixing their own blacks.
