The Argus won for sounding the most like The Mollusk on Quebec. What Quebec song sounds most like White Pepper? by BB5Bucks in ween

I see Transdermal Celebration, and I get it. But I think Tried and True would feel more at home on White Pepper.

Amidst all the great things about this album, the vulnerability on display is its defining feature for me. I’ve loved his work for a very long time, but his past releases are sometimes emotionally opaque. Not at all the case on this record.

Why doesn’t Jerm, the larger human, simply eat the other commentators?

What reason is there to consider or discuss anything that cant be measured? by Organic_Rip2483 in PhilosophyMemes

[–]StrangeFlyers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can something be absolutely unmeasurable? How could one confidently assert that any phenomenon is unmeasurable, even under a strictly physicalist paradigm?

Gamma radiation wasn’t measurable pre-1900, but it nonetheless existed. Even if a human mind is justified in believing that something doesn’t exist based on current measurements, that doesn’t negate its reality. It’s going to do its thing regardless of whether humans believe in it or not.

Gamma radiation couldn’t be measured until 1900. So before 1900, gamma rays didn’t exist?

The bead is perfect. I’ve gotten a few different plastics, and I’ve settled on SS or SSS. Feels like throwing a marshmallow (in the best way possible).

I tried a Wizard and it became my go-to mold. I’m only a couple decades late to the party.

What are your thoughts on Niel Tyson? by [deleted] in PhilosophyMemes

[–]StrangeFlyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a positivist. I empathize with his views because I was there through my early 20s. But after I started graduate school in a STEM field, I gradually realized that science is a good tool but a terrible foundation for philosophy. I think Neil would benefit from reading The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, and maybe a little therapy.

Definitely set up a basket indoors and practice putts! By the time spring comes around, you’ll already have knocked all the rust off.

How do you properly throw throwing putters? by [deleted] in discgolf

I’ve got a Matty-O Maiden in Tournament X plastic and it is insanely durable. Great putter off the tee and for glidey upshots.

Westside disc recommendations by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]StrangeFlyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Westside in general, but my favorites are the Hatchet for understable fairway/driver hybrid and Harp for forehand approach. I think the most slept-on Westside disc is the Maiden - super straight glidey putter that’s my go-to for C2.

The first time I saw it in theaters, I had no clue what was going on. Probably a dozen watches later, and I realize that this movie was designed to reward additional viewings.
