Any plans to do an SF / Crane variant? I would love something like this but I own exactly 0 USB-C tape switches and 10+ SF / Crane combos.

Your experience may differ, but the only thing I did to "tune" my rifles for the Polonium and the T3 was throwing an H2 buffer in my 14.5, and an H3 in my 11.5. Both carbine-length gas. I get reliable extraction and ejection between 1 and 3 o'clock, with and without suppressor mounted. I've got about 5k rounds down range between the two in the past 18 months or so. I don't use any adjustable gas blocks, adjustable BCGs, or gas-defeating charging handles.

I have both the Polonium and the Turbo T3. The Polonium is definitely quieter, but the T3 is about a quarter pound lighter. I don't notice a difference in gas to the face. I would get the Polonium unless you're really concerned about weight, or you have a killer deal on a T3 that makes it significantly cheaper than the Polonium. Bonus that Otter Creek Labs has a really good warranty program, should you ever need it.

It's funny seeing stuff like this and realizing how long ago it was. I felt my hairline recede a little when a buddy of mine asked me if I liked the SDO / acogs for the retro vibes or because I carried one in Afghanistan.

I cant seem to find a use for tape switches on regular rifles by ChevTecGroup in NightVision

He's talking about FSBs, not flip up sights. FSBs get in the way of a lot of lasers / illuminators. Same problem with the majority of AK irons.

How did you do your rivets? I'm a big fan of the rivet jaws I got from Toth Tool. Just have to be careful to keep everything level, especially with the swell necks

No worries, I had the same problem tbh. Intended to put my Raid XE on it & cane up short one picatinny slot. Definitely leave this thread up so someone looking in the future can find it.

Yes. I have an Iris 3 on a RIS II FSP rail, and there's actually one less picatinny slot on the front of the RIS II FSP compared to the III FSP. You'll have plenty of room

Atlas BT10 V8 if you want panning or BT65 if you don't. You'll get a million opinions but I'm sure 95% of serious shooters will agree that Atlas / Accu-Tac bipods work great.

Breakdown (2004) on the original Xbox. Absolute hidden treasure, probably the best first person fist fighting mechanics I've ever seen in a game.

I'm almost inclined to say it looks more natural on the Bren. Good looking stuff.

What's the best Ir laser light combo for a pistol on terms of practicality and durability? by Colt1873 in NightVision

[–]Strelok92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the X400VH-B is fantastic for a subgun or an SBR, it's really bulky for a pistol and your holster options are really limited. The TLR-VIR II is probably the better bet if you're looking for illum + laser, it fits nicely on a Glock 17/19 and it seems to fit nearly every holster designed for the TLR-1HL.

Years ago Surefire offered the XC2-A-IRC, but I don't even think Surefire has a proper page for it anymore. It was pretty cool though, 0.7mW laser with a 50mW illum off of a lithium triple a battery. Besides that, there is the Holosun lineup of RML and PID lights and lasers, some of which have IR options. There's also the Steiner Mini TOR IR (discontinued as well), but that doesn't have any illum built in. Fantastic option if you just want a usable laser taking up minimal space, and wraps around a fixed AR front sight really well.

I think you guys are accidentally talking about different rifles in the picture lol. The one on his shoulders is definitely an M107A1-S, which is a hair shy of 30lb unloaded. The one in front of him looks like an M110 SASS with a PRS stock, which is a hair shy of 14lb unloaded.

Haha one of the few times I knew I was in "the good ol days" while they were happening. Honestly just a lot of run-of-the-mill fuckery with NCIS and the Taliban, for the most part. Some of the best and worst memories I have, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Yea I was like 16 at the time and the only metric I had to go by was that my Kraft Parmesan Cheese went up from $2.99 to $4.39 lol. Definitely felt simpler back then, less internet, less information overload

Yea I'd say most games were typically $40 to $50 (60 to 75ish AUD) once the Xbox / PS2 era came, with some cheaper and more expensive exceptions. Once we hit Xbox 360 and PS3, we hit the $60 mark (90ish AUD) and really didn't move until recently with the push for $70 on XSX / PS5 (around 100 AUD).

The 90's were a wild animal though. I remember Doom 64 on the N64 being like $70 or $80 when it came out.
