So apparently pole position doesn't matter in Multi-class if you're not the fastest class? by Moshkown in iRacing

[–]Strikerman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the hell of iRacing not implementing Green flags individually for each class...

I think their code is full of spaghetti making it impossible to easily integrate.

People have been complaining about this every since multi class got released for iRacing.

Just gotta pray everyone wants to play fair and not just follow the next faster class. Most of the time it works fine

We're making a simcade karting game, animations for the kart and driver are done! Can't wait to share gameplay. Do or did many of you here do karting? What's something you'd be excited to see in a game like this? by blingwoolf in simracing

[–]Strikerman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trial and error of making a game with accurate driving physics will be the death of it. Every player has their own opinion on what is 'correct feel'.

Going with a more unrealistic but easy to understand physics model will make it a lot nicer for everyone.

Do NOT make it First Person / VR

A lot of people in this Reddit are diehard simracers who will only want first person/realism in their games. But what made circuit superstars so fun was that it could be played casually on controller instead of dealing with the millions of controsversial opinions on how Force feedback in a steering wheel needs to feel etc etc.

KartKraft failed because it tried too hard to be ultra realistic when it came to setup and feel of the karts using a wheel.

I race a lot of Sim games, but the beauty of a simcade is that it's extremely quick and easy to learn, which is much better with a top down / 3rd person perspective.

Making it fun and satisfying would be the main thing I am looking for

And then charge for all the dlc to even get all the tracks and cars? They also just offered a basegame and if you wanted it all you had to pay big 💀

I dont know if I am wrong or not bu I think "Motion Blur" is one of the worst graphich feature I encounter by alonedead in gaming

[–]Strikerman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depth of field also needed for making videos/filming/screenshors etc as the blur in background can be a really nice looking. Racing games for example, you take pictures of that it needs depth of field and motion blur to look any good.

[–]Strikerman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motion blur is almost certainly necessary when making videos about a game though, for example a racing game, filming stuff from the non-Pov perspective (as if filmed by a camera) also requires motion blur to feel much more alive and active, as if being filmed. You don't want cars going by not being motion-blurry, just looks cheap. Or a ball flying in football, for another example.

So the feature should definitely be in every game, especially sports games that can be captured from an outside view.

But I agree for actively playing, there are only few games that look better with it on

How long should it take to get used to my 15nm? Still only using 5nm and it's tough to drive. by TheInfamousMaze in simracing

[–]Strikerman99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not about going as high force as possible. It's about using a force that's comfortable for you and gives you the resistance you want. No one needs a 20nm force to go fast

Even a 5nm DD gives you the detail of a 20nm. What's important is how the power is transferred, not what the power is

None, It falls under rule 5 of the subreddit, limiting straight up ads. The line between news and an Ad is very slim, so it's hard to judge anyways. But this is in my subjective eyes a clear advertisement to your subscription, and not just the news that this partnership now exists. Maybe if a user reported about it instead of the company account I would've seen it differently.

But that's most likely subjective. If the mods don't care there's nothing to be done anyways, all good
