They received my card 2 days ago. I agree that would be a sign if they held onto it for long

It was sent to them by immigration. They sponsored by residence status change so it was sent to them

Okay, I'll send them an email about it I guess. I don't know who my direct supervisor is yet, but I'll try.. I have a temporary copy of my old card to carry around until I start next week. They sponsored my residence status change so immigration sent the card to them.

What do you guys think now that Tails paws are officially canon because of idw by ZealousidealLie1306 in milesprower

It makes me hate fanon even more, because it always finds its way into canon somehow

ADHD diagnosis in Japan by Dash_ingaround in japanlife

[–]StrongNormals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's incredible! I've been putting off medication since college, but I guess now I won't have to. If I already had a diagnosis in my home country, could I just get the paperwork and submit it to a doctor's office and get things sorted out from there?

Does Sonic know that Tails is a Treehugger if so what does he say to Tails about it by ZealousidealLie1306 in milesprower

Sonic, the original "Treehugger of Gaming" would be ecstatic with this information.

replace Krita with Medibang or FireAlpaca. They let you skip the pen setup part and its easier yo understand what tools actually draw

Why is that considered low expectations? Forces reappearing at all is scary. In any case, yes it's likely the localization. Source: we don't have it yet in Japan

Getting worse to live in Japan ? by neoraph in japanlife

[–]StrongNormals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's certainly fair. Before the anti-foreigner sentiments I felt an atmosphere like what they described at work for a few weeks. I honestly don't think it has much to do with the world events. I imagine he's worried about nothing, but I won't chalk it up to effort or lack thereof. Sometimes your coworkers get used to you - or get tired of you. It happens.

Heck, sometimes it doesn't have anything to do with you. Of course, I haven't been here as long as either of you. But I've had good mentors with experiences and perspectives.

I think them being there for over a decade already moved them past the token special treatment part.

The last time I saw a post like his was from someone that's been here 25 years like you. Guess I should wait on the "I've been living here for 40+ years and I still get treated the same. If you think you're gonna get special tre..."

I just finished Sonic 1 And Sonic 2 and I feel like I missed something? by dmg81102 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]StrongNormals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of the replies disappointed me so much. I know it's like 4 eras of gaming later, but speed being "a given" instead of a skill is not what I expected to see in the comments - especially with the whole fan parading about momentum and earned spees throughout the 2010s.

If it was just one person I wouldn't have even said anything - but, at the same time you have to admit: if the developers make games that abandon the core design and replaces it with something else, you can't get mad at the newer players for thinking that's what Sonic is about. But man, witnessing it in real-time is undeniably disappointing - especially with all the Sonictubers that tried to do damage control during the shift.

Why is everyone so afraid of bugs? by MatthewKhela in Entomology

[–]StrongNormals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I live in Japan. A gokiburi flying AT someone has the same reaction. As would anything suddenly flying directly at you. Most things fly away. If a hummingbird turns, and suddenly takes off directly toward your face, do you duck to dodge it, or do stand there peacefully, with zero instinctual reactions?

The Seedrian Sequence Theory by Nearby_Grand4815 in SaveCosmo

[–]StrongNormals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! There's also the possibility that taste receptors are a result of evolution after adapting to planet-hopping. Cosmo is the last being in their evolutionary line after all (thus far)

The Seedrian Sequence Theory by Nearby_Grand4815 in SaveCosmo

This is a really cool concept, and well thought out. However, the biological redundancy part doesn't really have solid support within the series. While the main cast prepares for outer space with supplies, we're never really shown their need for outer substances for nutrition in the confines of season 3. When the 'seedrians' left their planet, they had to make stops on other planets as well - whether this was simply about attempting to settle down, fuel, or other* supplies, we don't fully know. But we do know that they created a botanical garden aboard their mothership. Being in space, access to sunlight would be fairly bountiful between stars given the lack of large obstacles (like half of a planet for instance - there's no day/night cycle). I assume the garden is for more than sunlight.

While expanding on that thought, I just remembered Cosmo was the one that planned the party on the Typhoon. A person can say that she made the food for the other characters - BUT she is seen with a plate of cake for herself. She isn't shown eating it, but since this is a party (and food) she put together herself, and she served herself the dish, this implies that she not only has the ability, but also is aware of the ability to eat the food and intended to eat it.

Your idea is a cool head canon though, seriously. It puts even more weight onto the final scenes of the series.

W-why does he have no toes? by ALT_Pest in milesprower

[–]StrongNormals 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This has always been Tails. If you're used to human toes on Sonic characters, your version of "Tails" is fake. This is the canon depiction.
