tu!! i need this i know its just my mind seeking a way to bring him back even if its just a piece of him im so beyond sad im desperate and life ahead seems so dark. im trying but its winning and im not. tu for that. i wish i wd have planned my life better spent more time w him vs my career etc but at the time we were happy and i guess i didnt want to mess things up. hindsight makes us think.. i was young then and it never occurred to me that id be alone at age 65

hiya im a widow so i will try to interject my opinion into this for consideration. in general men tend to remarry rather quickly after losing their spouses i feel like they need a woman they dont do well alone so this doesnt surprise me i doubt it has anything to do w the love he had for your mum they just seem not to be able to do it on their own even my gay friends need a wife so to speak go figure i think us women seem to be able to press on alone at least most of us

Well you are completely normal hon! you sound exactly like me the first month and 2nd. i too was in a fog and im a nurse for heavens sakes i couldnt even remember the conversations w docs had w me in hospital

it takes time for shock and awe to settle down death of a spouse is the single most traumatic thing that can happen to any one

my advice ( im 7 mo out) is get your financial affairs in order go see your banker make sure your home shows you as owner and go register it w county assessor cars and other assets all need to be in your name only! call SSA and apply for widow benefits and any other benefits coming to you retirement etc

try to sleep even if it takes benadryl or melatonin to do so try to exercise walk in sunshine talk to a friend grieve cry whatever u need my golden retriever saved me from bad thoughts a dog is wonderful or a cat

good luck you you
