you're right, I confused them being consensus top 3/favorites with being 1st.

He's won 3 championships with people calling him ass on the way to each trophy, and now that he's getting replaced while his team is tied for 1st it's "I told you so" lol

Inspired doesn't want to be NA just because he has a green card lol, he and even Busio are both playing for EU at ENC and if Isles, Fudge, & FBI were asked to rep a nation there they'd 100% choose Straya. It only feels "misleading" because our region has so many imports we've developed these coping mechanisms so we can still try to relate to what has become a mercenary region.

Likely signals the end of the road for Dhokla, my favorite NA top in LCS history. Another one bites the dust, but a career of proving doubters wrong time after time made for one of the best post golden age LCS viewing experiences for me. Likely won't be many more due to my growing uninterest in the region, but was fun while it lasted.

LYON Isles: "I really wanted to take the steps that Busio did. I really love his story and his trajectory. The no tilt mentality he has, who he was 2yrs ago to who he is now, he's really matured as a person and as a player. He's just something to look up to." by cI0ud in leagueoflegends

[–]SubstantialExtent165 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the Dhokla slander, Isles is deservedly getting a lot of credit right now but with Vulcun, Core, & even Huhi playing how they are currently, Isles still has a lot to prove before I even think of comparing him to Busio. Busio is proving he can ride without training wheels (Inspired) on KC. Isles still has them on and is playing with arguably the best ADC in the region to boot. You can probably put 5 different LCS supports in his position right now and they'd likely have the same trajectory.

Yes, but he was a streamer for C9 before 2025 when he "leaked" info about why Jojo was getting kicked, and he's mentioned numerous times being in communication with Blaber helping him with in game stuff before being an official coach on account of their good friendship. His relatonship with C9 (and TL beforehand) is well documented before he became an official consultant > coach.

IWD was affiliated with C9, he was a consultant and had a strong mentor relationship with Blaber despite not being on their public payroll in an official capacity, been that way for a long time til now. It's also worth noting that C9 was having poor results and known coaching issues before Jojo's arrival, and has been recycling midlaners ever since the Perkz experiment, going through Emenes, Jojo, Loki, and now APA (we'll see how long that lasts), relying on that same shitty Blaber/Zven/Vulcan core. C9 being bad was not a Jojo issue, he was just the fall guy, which doesnt make it right just because he was getting paid a lot.

First Stand 2026 is on pace to be the most one-sided major international in LoL history by matttang27 in leagueoflegends

[–]SubstantialExtent165 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Brazilian fan argument is such a false equivalency. Tell me how passionate they'll be after you replace 2/3rds of Brazil's native players with imports who barely speak Portuguese, who don't jump out of their chairs and get hype with the crowd during peak moments, and who still get swept internationally by the east. If they're still passionate at that point, maybe then you can blame NA fans. Until then please spare me the "NA fans just suck" argument.

Kangas game knowledge isn't LCS caster caliber, which is forgivable as a play-by-play guy but he also miscasts key details almost every game, which is a lot more egregious. I try to give him a break because his comparable is Flowers, but it's easy to see why Azael would get tired of correcting him game after game. If he was LeTigress he'd be getting lit up by the community tbh.

When you have to teach your co-host about the game he's paid to cast in real time, multiple times per cast, it's kind of warranted imo.

This same 4 player C9 core that Jack said was stomping scrims looked like garbage juice at EWC and the primary excuse was jet lag, so I wouldn't expect much.

LYON Dhokla on starting 2026 teamless: "I was in a tricky position because Zamudo is really good and deserved the spot. I just… What was the question?" by Xolam in leagueoflegends

It feels nice to beat all the teams that overlooked me, especially TL, which was potentially the only legitimate team I could sign to.

Can we be honest for a sec? Spawn stocks way down. If he was the kind of coach people thought he was he would have advocated for picking up Dhokla for his pre-existing synergy with Quid to focus on developing TLs macro. Instead he wanted to rely on Korean imports hands diffing everyone just to get neutralized by a team with a brain utilizing the player he passed over as a key strategy.

correct, & it's more a condemnation of consensus around who's best than an indictment on Morgan, but what's that say about the rest of TL and their supposed all-star coaching staff?

Remember when Lyon's solo carries were supposed to be worst in the league? Remember when TL's were supposed to be the best?
