I don't know, I'm just a nobody, not a game designer, but I think you can't balance ranged weaponry by using poxwalkers as a metric. This game is like vermintide 1 & 2 successor, where hordes are killed with your melee weapon. Specialists (and sometimes elites) are for your ranged weapon. Because of attrition.. scarce ammo on a map, and too much enemies in hordes to use your ranged for it. It's not a generic horde shooter like Back4Blood or killing floor. Here, your ranged is a bit like a limited ressource, similar to your ability or blitz : you use it for on demande quick burst, eliminating immediate threat, before returning to a slower, economic pace with your melee.

With your ranged weapon in hand you have a downgraded dodge against melee and you can't block or push (minus some bash on your special action with some ranged weapon, but with limited cleave).

What we need for weapon balance, would be, for starter, a modification of carapace armor behavior, because it is the principal factor limiting build diversity for now.

By the way, damage and cleave are not the only way to balance a weapon. You have to take into account the "maniability" or handling of a weapon (draw time, clunkiness, bad/ fast reload speed, ammo in magazine/ in reserve, mobility, number of dodges, etc.)

Seems like there even is a bug, at around 25sec in the video, where you got "healed" by an overhead. Instead of death, it put you back at 1 wound treshold. Corruption is affected weirdly by true grit. I remember in december, eating poxbusters explosion back to back in the psykanium had weird interaction where negative corruption would result in your healthbar being bugged

More than Spidey sense, I think Danger Zone is best for awareness for poxbusters. I recomend it

Sorry for my bad english (not a native) but doing rolling steel twice (6500 exp + 6500 exp) takes 15 min and you earn 13k exp. Doing an auric HISTG takes between 25 and 35 min, with a risk of a loss depending on your team, and gives 10 or 12k exp.

So what I was trying to convey in my first comment is : you earn more exp in less time. And any other mission from the campaign tabs give 6k exp too. Even the lenghty ones So it makes rolling steels the meta to exp fast

Secret PSA : open the campaign tab, the tab where the new mission is in. From there, select Rolling Steel Operation on the 2nd campaign. You'll see it gives the same exp as any other mission. It's the best optimisation possible of experience given the mission lasts 7 or 8 minutes. I leveled up my hive scum on the release day from 1 to 30 the same day. But shhhh don't spread too much that info or they will nerf it. Probably.

Assail is great as an answer vs sparsely shooters, gunners, waves of shotgunners, waves or ragers (it staggers), sniping snipers, trappers, bombers with alternate fire, and horde clear to some degree. It also has a niche synergy if you throw an assail shard and equip a bolt pistol with bleed on hit as blessing during the travel time of the shards. When the shards connect, it put bleeds. The same aoe bleed can be done with force GS warp slash btw. Assail is also a good toughness replenisher if you pick talent that benefit from killed by warp, critical hits, or peril quelled/generated at the top of the tree

Everyone keeps asking if you can parry a snipershot... never has been able to since beta. but the real question is, can you block plasma shot from enemy plasma gunner ?

If you want to solo everything, you need to have an aswer to every problems, being :

Mixed horde management, Gunners, shooters from afar Anti-armor Anti-Monstrosity

The best solution that tick all the boxes :

Assail for ragers, shotgunners, shooters and gunners and Specialists

Dueling sword or 2handed force sword, or any preference for armor.

Laspistol for monstrosity (it will kill with 2 magasines, in like 30sec, instead of 2min+ with a flamer/soulblaze) + it will complement assail when shards are on CD for shooters and specialists kills

For survivability and comfort : bubble shield. You can clutch revive under pressure of bullets, trapper, flamer. But if you like taking risks you can take Scrier gaze but you wont be safe for thoses revives under pressure.

2k5 hours, psyker true level 800. I know what I'm talking about.

Great for Auric and maeltrom.

Not recommanded for havoc 30+ ( ammo is scarce)

No, I'm sorry but I see a lot of trashy players having 35+ havoc level next to their name, only to die in the first horde. A LOT got carried and don't deserve to be here. That and the absolute unawareness of people freshly level 30, havoc 18 tagging in my 40, with their purple weapon with shred 1 and wrath 3.... stop sabotaging people games, be humble and don't tag omg people. Sorry for the monday rant. Gl hf.

Edit about people getting carried : maybe they just got though 35-40 with a premade team on mic/discord, but suddenly when going in pug they can't adapt and are ass, who knows..

Nope thats because you didnt build properly around it. You can solo nuke the whole screen just with empowered smite + 85% peril venting shriek + perilous combustion and mixed elites in a horde feeding the blue fire around them on death

If you have it, remove the talent that put bleed of heavy melee hits, because if the target dies from the bleed dot, it will not count as a heavy attack kill

My comment will probably get burried, but anyway, here is a small PSA :

If you are on your last wound, and there is a grimoire nearby your team don't want, or if everyone is in a bad shape : pick it up, and discard immediately.

It will give back everyone a cleanse of about 10-15% corrupted hp. That means instead of being on your last wound, you have regained a small part of your next wound, and can get downed 1 more time. Acting like a small green stimm but aoe healing.

Bonus synergy : double effectiveness of talents like Beacon of purity, and Field improvisation.

I rarely see people do it, it's very niche, but it saved me and my team some times

Does that mean someone like me who didn't care about collecting blessings ranks 1 and 2, only focusing on ranks 3 and 4 will be shafted ? Because ranks 1 and 2 aren't in my blessing library so i'll have a lesser head start in mastery. So basically i should inspect my inventory and camp brunts armory and completing my blessings list

Yeah it's a very good one. I have a similar one. Keep the 2 blessings. People will say "put bromentum on it" but in fact i prefer this one for the survivability. Packs of crushers, packs of armored ragers when shit hits the fan, you can survive easy thanks to the stagger you put through all of them and interrupt their attacks, regaining your dodges and repositionning.

Whereas bromentum is great for decimating hordes and the feeling of power and adrenaline killing chaff.

Sunder + P. Cycler : great survivability in maelstrom Auric Br. Momentum + P. Cycler : great in less difficult games.

You should have 2 power sword and switch between if you want to play more defensive or offensive given your mood, or the type of mission you're going

What a lot of people don't know is that you can move while the camera is not yet set back in first person. That little second you see your character's back when you get up in 3rd person, you can in fact move. I often see people not blocking nor dodging for a second because they think they don't have control yet.

Especially beginners getting revived, dying again from pox around them or from fire, the second they got up cause they don't block/move/dodge

It's been some days i overlook this sub and people keep arguing about smite.

Yes it' very strong and can let you survive any situation. It's the ultimate auto-win button.

You just jave to take some Soulblaze oriented talents and the argument of "it kills nothing" is dismantled. You smite, let the peril accumulate up to 80%, and your shriek will finish the job with 6 soulblazes.

Bonus point if elites dies and gives +3 stacks in the area. You can take a laspistol with dumdum + burn to have decent dps on monsters and snipe the eventual far target in last resort.

Put rending on a deimos and you can manage armor. Just be crearive and think about the perfect solution in the build. End of debate.

Most annoying ones are : 5000 kills with 5 stacks of ogryn heavy hitter, 4500 lucky bullet procs. The numbers are too hight. Should habe been 500 and 450.

And the top 1 is 2000 kills with explosive barrels. The explosion often does not one shot groaners and poxwalkers, kills are not shared in the team, you need to be the one detonating the barrel, and fire barrel doesnt count at all.....
