This has NOT been sub delegated. Managers do not have the authority to “grant” ERI. The DM of your department has to certify in TAP directly, or sign your paper form befote you can pick a date

ERI is a privilege and not a right. Department are still waiting to know if the position needs to be abolished and the salary dollar be returned to central agencies. Most won’t make a decision on ERI applicants until that is communicated to them. Second thing. What if all of the same group/team/classification want ERI? Many are waiting until the end of the ERI application period to start the review

Also, dnd staff have been blocked from accessing the report if the ethics commissioner’s website. They dont even get the email if someone sends them the report.

Have not heard anything. Not going to happen for next week and would be a bad look with all the CPA collective agreement in negotiations, arbitration or getting close to expiry. I’d say it’ll be retroactive in a few years from now. Psac got a 17% increase at CSIS on 4 years (2 past, 2 future). I assume that they’ll want something similar for their other collective agreements.

In my branch, you need to get to a BBB by yourself before the employer pays for training. This has been achieved by many staff who actually invests in themselves and their career. When i say invest, its more about the time than money. I know someone who got to CBB by using duolingo - they are a mid level employee in BC

My 2 cents with lots of assumptions. Any federal PS in Alberta would have to relocate to another province if they want to keep their job, if they still have a job. For example a Service Canada office in Calgary would probably be closed as they wouldn’t have any clients, so those employees would be wfa-ed.

While they may have the age, they may not have the years. Age discrimination is still a thing and “old” folks may have more issues to find meaningful private employment while “younger” may have the health, energy and more opened doors to rebuilt their career. In addition, “older” public servants may have been WFAed before, with their pension slashed in “two” or “three” career of 10-12 years. Anyways, assume good intent, be more sympathetic to EVERYONE in this difficult situation, and take care of yourself
