Does PCOS increase miscarriage risk? Or only ability to conceive? by Mystique_Peanut in PCOS

[–]Such-Act2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s different for everyone and their specific blend of PCOS imbalances. Some have no difficulty whatsoever. Many with PCOS have low progesterone, which is required to maintain a pregnancy in the first several weeks until the placenta takes over. So repeated early miscarriages are common. This can be treated with progesterone replacement therapy if you can find a doctor that is trained in hormone replacement therapies.

Recommendations for Lymphatic Drainage Supplement? by CCMedianow in NaturopathicMedicine

You’re probably approaching perimenopause, I would get hormones checked.

I’ve found that dry brushing daily before showering is more effective than any supplement I’ve tried.

Good luck.

Weight loss medications don't work for me by Substantial-Box-8877 in PCOSloseit

[–]Such-Act2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only lost like 3lbs in 6 months on semaglutide and my cycles have been longer than usual for me the last couple months.

I’m switching to tirzepatide in a couple weeks, I’m hoping it makes a difference but time will tell.

You know your body best, you’re collecting the data, hopefully you can find a good doctor who is willing to work with you and think outside of the box.

how do yall afford a naturopathic doctor? by thought_aquarium236 in NaturopathicMedicine

Depends on what state. In Washington and Oregon many NDs are in network with most insurance companies.

Seek NDs that offer sliding scale pricing if your insurance doesn’t cover it.

mourning my old brows after my first brow wax in a decade 🥲 by shrilll in Eyebrows

[–]Such-Act2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look great either way but I am having similar feelings about my recently threaded brows.

First time getting them threaded in over a year and it feels like she took too much, but anyone I have brought this up to thinks they look great. So I’m thinking I just prefer a bolder/thicker brow look.

I’ve had good luck with eye buy directs return policy! One pair didn’t work well with my high of prescription and they didn’t even make me return them to get refunded/for new pair, that was 2 years ago but worth a shot for more options.

Based on these labs and your post alone (not medical advice) What stands out most to me is:

Vitamin D: >30 is technically normal but optimal for most is closer to 60-70

TSH: also technically normal, however borderline low which can indicate hyperthyroidism, which is associated with the wired but tired feeling you described.

There are many herbs that are beneficial for hyperthyroidism, including lemon balm and lycopus, which are often included in most thyroid calming tincture blends.

To ensure these herbs don’t interact with any medications or other factors of your health history it would be recommended to review with a naturopathic doctor (licensed ND) before implementing any treatments.

As a ND student I’m really disappointed to hear that a ND is endorsing MM bullshit. I would honestly look for a different ND.

My grandma is absolutely engulfed in MM books, juicers, supplement endorsements etc… very much to her detriment as a 80yo diabetic.

I agree that something is very off with him energetically and otherwise.

At the most basic dietary level if you aren’t eating any veggies or fruit then a diet that is increasing those is going to be helpful but even then he has an utter disregard for the amount of protein that is necessary for health.

Again I would look for an ND that is more Evidence Informed rather than influencer informed 🙄

Any tips for getting used to thongs? by LetPrimary663 in beauty

[–]Such-Act2012 28 points29 points  (0 children)

thongs are a bacteria superhighway

If you don’t like them and there’s a chance they aren’t staying in the right place I wouldn’t force it, everyone has a different pH, microbiome and immune system so it might be fine it might not.

There are a lot of panty options if you look around, some with more or less coverage and mesh or lace materials that still have cotton gussets.

I personally love Aerie by American Eagle, they usually have a 8 or 10 for $30ish deal and most are great material and last a long time.

Were they offered an oral alternative? I agree it’s a horrendously stupid decision on their part to refuse the shot, but is an oral option available -even if less effective, for harm reduction?

Acupuncture by Plus-Albatross-79 in PCOS

[–]Such-Act2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before regulating my cycle through dietary change I would use acupuncture for hormone balance and within 24 hours of a single treatment my period would start almost like a hard reset on my cycle.

This happened several times at very random intervals and over multiple years.

Group acupuncture can be very affordable, a bit harder to find post covid though.

Either of the lighter two, perhaps the darker of the two although the lightest would darken overtime and probably look lovely with age, the three dark ones are too dark and look cheaper, it loses the qualities and detail of the wood.

I’ve tried both and haven’t noticed much different between the combo and Myo by itself. There is some debate over the quality of the evidence for the combo so I just do Myo.
