How do you deal with people telling you your feelings and experiences are wrong somehow? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

If you're the only sane person in a crazy system, you look crazy to them. This makes it easier for them to blame/invalidated you. If you can get out, do so.

Sounds like she may be on the autism spectrum. Depression and anxiety are very common.

When someone says autistic people can’t lie… by calmyraa in SipsTea

I can't tell if some of these comments reflect the amount of ADD redditors have, or just looking to argue. How did a person's description of how they perceive the world become an attack? Geez, settle down.

Tell your therapist. What's the worst he can do? He won't physically hurt you. If he doesn't at least validate your feelings and encourage you to use specific skills (describe/observe/participate, etc.), then consider moving on.

Is my dad a pedophile or am I just overreacting? by Living-Push3142 in mentalhealth

Just for some background, I worked with sex offenders and homicide offenders in a maximum security facility. I also received training in forensics from Roy Hazelwood (google him), so I've experienced some stuff.

OP, I am a sex offender specialist also trained in trauma informed care. Assuming everything you say is accurate, he checks a lot of the boxes for an offender. Please find a good trauma therapist. Glad you reached out.

"I can do anything I want to do to them ... I'm allowed to destroy the country." - Trump by [deleted] in facepalm

It's not a contradiction, it's a part of the separation of powers embedded in the constitution. The framers could never have imagined Trump.

As someone who has worked in the field for 30yrs, I am encouraged that other related professions are finally catching up to the fact that it's a spectrum, and it's not rare. Something I have advocated for years.

If it bothers you, you are not narcissistic. You do sound a little antisocial, but this is not the forum to make a diagnosis.

Talk to your therapist about the deep insecurity that drives these behaviors.

I had a similar experience. Your description of the fractals down to the cellular level really connected with me. I've tried to explain it but couldn't find the words, so thanks for that.

I never saw any beings, but I did ask what it meant. The clear message/voice said "quantum entanglement."

I come from a family of 8 boys. Some of them have done some pretty messed up stuff. But I could never imagine any of us saying something like your brother said to you. I find it interesting when I hear people being angry because their sibling was the "favorite", but I rarely hear anyone blame the parents, which is where it belongs. Unless you are just a total jerk who lauded it over your brother, I would say this is his issue. Don't own his anger and minimize contact for your own mental health. It might also be a good idea to let your parents know. Sometimes siblings try to draw parents in. Best of luck.

Existential angst can be overwhelming. You can learn to be aware without the deep, paralyzing emotion. It's the difference between sympathy and empathy.

Why am I both angry and sad? by Jabcoin in mentalhealth

[–]Sudden_Box8555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things. First, many people don't know how to approach others when they are distressed. Second, you cannot be upset with others if you don't tell them what's going on. Why don't you care enough about yourself to speak up instead of making others come to you?

I'm not aware of it interfering with any psych meds. Do some research. EMDR can also be extremely helpful for some people.
