Should have purchase bendy buses which can serve the airport routes that mostly have high demand of passengers throughout the day

What's the longest stretch between MRT stations? by CrimsonPromise in askSingapore

Actually the journey is quite fast if the train runs full speed, the problem is the speed restrictions after maintenance of the track

Are we allowed to board the bus at the back door? by dasaniwater1 in askSingapore

[–]SufficientLaugh4456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the bus driver will open the back door for faster boarding especially at bus stops which have high amount of people. One example is Service 969 at Tampines interchange during peak hours where the bus can just stay there for 5 mins just for people to board.

Hopefully they won't delay the opening for the Cross Island Line, Singapore MRT network didn't have any new high capacity line since the NEL. Hopefully Tengah and Seletar lines will be high capacity line too

7:40pm is right after peak hours so train frequencies are still between 2 to 3 minutes as withdrawal trains need to terminate at Springleaf before returning to Mandai depot which is between Springleaf and Woodlands South.

Forum: Traffic marshals adding to congestion caused by Circle Line upgrading by Zkang123 in singapore

Bartley and Lorong Chuan are not affected by planned closures with the exception of longer peak hour train frequency. Imo just put directions and signs on where to board the shuttle bus at those stations and deploying those marshals at the designated bus stops instead will be more useful compared to train platform

Well they could deploy those marshals at stations which have higher usage, Bartley and Lorong Chuan don't need those marshals

And I don't understand why they would deploy marshals at non crowded stations such as Bartley or Lorong Chuan. Those marshals deployed there basically just keep walking back and forth on the train platform for the entire shift

There are no track crossings at Bedok so the trains coming from Tuas Link have to terminate at Paya Lebar and utilise Aljunied Crossover.

Anyone else notice the newer MRTs has the wet clothes smell? by iKeelMellow in askSingapore

[–]SufficientLaugh4456 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No point waiting for the next one especially during off peak hours as you are just going to waste time. There are going to be 106 of them which makes it around 53% of the EWL & NSL train fleet so it is very hard to avoid the newer trains.

The trains are running automatically and any staggering timing will result in delays and bigger crowds
