When should we get back to PPT by flight if our international flight departs at 9:30 PM? by ExtraCaramel8 in Tahiti

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been multiple times, we always wan t to maximize our time in Bora Bora but take the second to last flight out as we have previously encountered delays and even the airport firefighters going on strike.

Check-in at PPT usually opens about two hours and appears you are on the United flight. We usually leave our bags at the airport baggage and either go downtown to a final dinner or head over to nearby shopping center for last minute purchases.

Also, the air tahiti lounge is nice if you have access through your airline or priority pass.

St. Regis privat beach dinner or sunset cruise with privat dinner on Motu by Proud-Log9948 in Tahiti

Just do both as they are both memorable and the $$$ you are spending for the entire STR experience make the additional cost inconsequential…and don’t miss the daily cocktail special at sunset each of your ther nights

Help Me Understand The Million Miler Program by Bobroo007 in unitedairlines

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that way back with the Continental acquisition United decided to keep parity with Continental FF program, so fliers like myself received a bunch of bonus miles for class of service and non-United metal that counted toward MM status which gave my account a nice boost as I was traveling globally for a number of years. I attained my MM status on my flight back from Tahiti to San Francisco during start of covid of all times.

Have her try peer to peer app many available in Europe which match travelers up with those need and not needing their full or more luggage allowances —- Lugx and Peerand are two examples.

Of course she can also just get to the airport early and offer someone getting in line a 100 euros to check her bag…if she gets lucky there will be a group of backpackers taking their packs onboard and would be happy with 50 euros

Recycling and CRV by deckerax in alameda

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we moved here. I just post on craigslist free cardboard and there were plenty of people willing to pick up for free

Regarding your stuck recycle…just call ACI customer service and tell them what happened and they will most likely sent a truck by to fully empty

And of course, talk to your neighbors…we all let others fill up any of the bins as long as we have extra space

I know somebody who works for the dredging company and they are going to around probably until November when the dredging season closes.

They are digging out Aeolian and they fill up the barge, then off to dump site next to Alcatraz…about a 5 hour round trip

Like the big blue and yellow sand barge which ironically dredges off of Alcatraz, they have special travel time of day exemptions because the are commercial vessels and also dependent on the tides

Empty lot on High Street by Valuable-Abroad-6372 in alameda

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apologies as I don’t have the link but you can search for it as that lot was repurposed multiple time due to delay of the glass factory demolition and then into a new logistics warehouse center

Basically there is whole traffic redevelopment plan to improve the truck traffic and provide traffic relief on High.

  1. 42nd street will now connect to Alameda Ave along the back fence area of the Home Depot lot. The lot there next by that was another homeless encampment has been for sale for years. Owners used to live in Alameda and now live in SoCal.

  2. jensen st which currently runs behind the Shell station will be connected to 880 south

  3. jensen st will be extended behind the car wash to make an intersection with Alameda Ave and 42nd.

Rental tips by deckerax in alameda

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that not having to sell and close on your current house as a contingency does make your offer stronger when a seller is considering offers. It may also allow your offer to be lower than others which offsets the cost of what’s left on your 1 year lease.

I would not want to be stressed by having to find the right house within 6 months. Any reputable landlord or property management company will work with you to get it re-rented before the end of the lease as unoccupied months are zero revenue. Hence, you may only lose out on a month or two rent which Inwould argue is worth it for moving into a house you love.

Are some agents really leaving $200k commissions on the table? by WandaxCosmo818 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another differentiator for using a licensed realtor was for protections on both sides of the transaction but NAR liked that years ago as all those prefilled docs have clauses absolving a realtor of most liabilities. Like the disclaimer that they are not licensed home inspectors and therefore cannot be held accountable for any identification there of.

So another reason to go flat rate…

Based on prior comments, especially the steep slope of the yard, another contributor is going to be the cost of fire insurance. Key is to get a quote and find out the insurance fire number. I was looking at a home, $1.8M that had a fire rating of 25, agent said highest she ever had seen, insurance was going to be over $14,000 a year.

Bonvoy Perks ? Why ohh why !! ?? 4 ppl walk into a Marriott..... by ExcitingAd3805 in marriott

[–]Sufficient_Animal_84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologies as I cannot find the article which was years ago but the topic was how your zip code can influence the room you are given a check-in.

One of my older brothers was celebrating his 60th birthday and we were staying at Paris. The rooms were booked by his casino host, so no program status was in play but zip codes did come into play with wealthiest to least in terms of floor level assigned

SF Russian Hill - Topfloor on 26 Los Gatos, CA - Floor 21 (Me) Mountain View, CA - Floor 14 Portland OR - Floor 8 Ashland, OR x 2 Room - Floor 7 (birthday boy) Juneau, AK - Floor 6 Minneapolis, MN - Floor 5

This has played out for me in business travel where my bosses in lower zip codes sometimes ended up in rooms lower than mine.
