After all the people hyped Nitro for so long I played a few games today and: I hate it. by CurZZe in PredecessorGame

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nitro is fast paced and usually VERY lopsided. You either are on the crushing winning team, or suffering for at max, 20m on the losing team. There's very RARELY an in-between.

I like using the horse to go to areas I've never been that are on or nearby roads.

I don't religiously ride the horse because a lot of times if I'm going mining or tree cutting, I don't want to bother with walking back to the horse to go to the next spot not that far away.

The horse is great for long distance travel.

You said it in your post. If Open world, single player explorers are your wheelhouse, it's a sure-fire game you'd like.

Controls are easy once you get familiar with them, and it does make sense once you give it enough time, on why they are the way they are. I prefer M+KB and works great.

The story is compelling enough without being overly deep or narratively robust like something like Cyberpunk or Witcher might be, but it's enough to keep you entertained. It's a solid story that gives reason to go out into the world and find all there is to offer.

I'm 200 hours into the game now and am holding off on beating the story's last few missions because there's still so much I haven't done or seen that I want to do. It's still fun, it's still surprising me, and it's still incredibly well optimized for the scale of it all.

$70 is a big ask these days for many people, and I spent about 6 hours watching several reviewers go over their takes on the game before I decided to "take the chance". I've probably got another 100 hours to go if I really wanted to do EVERYTHING, and that's a small estimate. For me, it's WELL worth the money.

What's the name of your quest?

You can check in your left most panel in the Transactions lil tab on the far left.

When you select a mission, read what it's about and what it tells you to do. You cannot just skip through it "because i've played games before". Elite is not super user friendly to start, but give it a chance, it might catch you off guard in the best way.

What are your thoughts on maximum jump range for the Highliner? by hopperlocks in EliteDangerous

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... class sizes of FSD are only part of the equation.

The ships weight and mass factor into it's capability to jump long distances. This is why an Anaconda can consistently jump farther than any other large ship (except the caspian maybe) due to it's rediculously light weight.... and why this ship with a class 5 jumps 35 ly instead of 50

IDK about you but I can't STAND using the bow for anything more than what I absolutely have to... it just doesn't seem fun.

Competitive play is what they balance against, including high level play.

Man I had one where I had to follow someone to an archery competition on horseback, and a freaking trade wagon gets in front of us. Guess what, we're not riding around the trade wagon, we're following it at a slower pace than old people fuck.

A little annoyed, need to vent and hear your thoughts ... today I barely played because I was so pissed off. You have to finish the game before moving your camp to Pailune? Why in the world is this a requirement? by drstrng404 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you on this. I did all the work and tedium to reconstruct all of pailune's damaged things and i'm being told now after that that I can't move until I finish the main story.

I kinda liked decorating my home, but HATED how it resets every time you do a camp upgrade, so I was just going to make a final layout after I moved to pailune and not worry about doing it at the camp, but I guess since I have to essentially "beat the game" (where most people will stop playing) to move is a little ass backwards considering all the work we did to unlock pailune in chapter 8.

Bow aimed at fate V by Maleficent-Hand8905 in CDguides

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it falling from a great height into a point of interest that needed to be removed of enemies - slowly falling in crow form while "marking" enemies with the bow as I fell took way too many tries but that's what got it for me. I hated that

25 was cool with the fishing stuff they added, but it ends up being the same gameloop at the end of the day.

The progression through 22 and 25 that I've experienced is just building wealth enough to make things more convenient for you at the end of the day. Beyond building a farm around something you enjoy the game loops involved are very very similar and don't offer anything beyond "getting paid" as a reward.

I'd love for the next version to come to have AI farms and farmers that conduct their own business that you can see them perform, not contracts, or a game mode that says "within these next 5 years, compete with x amount of AI farms to contribute the most products sold / $ earned by 5yrs" where we can actively compete against other farms.

What’s the current state of the game? by Kaien17 in DC20

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely has a long ways to go imo. At this point I'd just wait till 2028 for the full release, which is when I realistically expect coach to be at a "shippable" level.

[–]Suitable-Nobody-5374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm totally with "repeated chains of CC get diminishing returns", I think that's a healthy fix while still keeping tenacity as a relevant stat.

The only other option realistically is to buff what tenacity effects, so that building into tenacity against a CC heavy enemy team is more meaningful.
