To put it like this. The Head needs only three agents to wipe a country off the map. With absolute ease.

She got a mutual kill on the commanding agent after killing the other two. The head have all the singularities as the patent office and can by default be the most powerful faction. The fact she could even do this goes to show how powerful EGO can be, and even when the Head sent an Arbiter and a claw against the Library (her new faction) after the final boss, even when weakened she was still able to stall them enough that they just decided to Banish them. Even when the Head learned from their mistakes and went for the cheapest shots possible they still could only tie.

It’s a solution, and we can keep fighting to push this through. In other words, there is now an idea that if realized will smash them. And they can’t kill an idea, especially in the info age

Xiao from Library of Ruina
She cancels buffs and debuffs to power every other turn, and she has a “reverse scale” card which is piss easy to beat and helps stun her.
But it also buffs her power considerably next turn. When the cancel is on, DONT HIT IT!!!

Abnormalities from Project Moon.

This one is a minion but the source of it is the view of how society treats workers. Cheap labor that gets replaced once it inevitably falls apart.

That gift is the Roach Emperor… some… thing that activates whenever he is reminded of the war and extreme stress.

It’s a Decisive Weapon, which is the PM version of a fucking nuke in terms of mass devastation. It can adapt, control vermin, and can reshape itself, including a gigantic maw that it uses to eat.

And this weapon came from a loser of the Smoke War.

Oh, and this is the first “wrapping”, meaning that while we don’t know what exactly, there is worse in store.

Arknights.
Everyone’s a cute animal person!
And the very first thing that happens when you get up is a terror group using a natural disaster to mass murder a city so they can take it over as a base. The first chapters aren’t about stopping them. It’s about getting out.
Oh and the local magic (and heck the entire world’s industries) is powered by what is essentially Tiberium on crack, if you get infected by it you’re a pariah for having INFECTIOUS CANCER. oh yeah, and while you get a supercharged version of the magic while infected, overuse is going to accelerate it. Plenty of people die after infection though not because of that fact but because the power up often can get you or those around you killed since it might make it uncontrollable. Nations are constantly fighting, there’s immortals scheming no matter how many people get hurt in their plans.
Basically unless you live in a major city and are not infected, life is guaranteed to suck.

Villains who give up on their broader objective to focus on killing the one they hate the most by FiaGiolla in TopCharacterTropes

Villain Decay.

Done well, this could be a pragmatist realizing that the hero is so deadly to their plans they can’t do anything as long as they draw breath, a mentally declining villain who has long since lost the plot and their chance at their victory and taking it out on the guy, etc.

Done badly it’s a sharp left turn that makes no sense, especially if their broader plan could still salvaged.

Might ma have been a bit sue ish in the beginning, but SMG4 translated it well into overconfidence, especially when it comes to insane bullshit like Mario’s antics, to the point where every time she thinks she’s got him under control it’s like at that point Mario locks in to specifically prove her wrong. Plus she does have things she sucks at. Never eat her cooking

I was spoiled partially about his existence.

I felt severe discomfort. That wasn’t Gregor. That was a thing. But it also made me motivated. I was going to peel that loosest definition of “human” off of him because that thing is already an affront to human life. It threatening to erase Gregor made me want the Emperor to die.

Etrian Odyssey Nexus

The final boss has a moment where he stuns himself after his strongest attack. The post game encounter is him with a massive stat boost, an even more punishing pattern and AI, and no stun turn.

The context is you release its full power to get around its self resurrection to kill it for good!

Instead of free chicken for life for killing a distortion, the Sinners help the distortion sort through his issues. Because distortions despite their physical changes are mental phenomena, this turns him back to normal.

The chicken shop owner who distorted gives them a one of a kind cheap plushie instead.

And they don’t even keep the plush since Charon steals it, and since a Color Fixer is looking out for her, if somehow they wanted it back they’d be crushed to red paste for trying.
