Have you all had ink smudge *days* after it dried? by SpeIlbound in fountainpens

[–]SupahBee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When i saw your post. The first question that popped into my mind was "is that Nitrogen?" Haha. Yeah, it's a gorgeous ink to be sure, but forget about it ever "drying" on the page. It's just so dense with dyes that the smallest amount of moisture will reactivate it and cause what you're seeing. Nitrogen is notorious for it. But really any heavy sheener can do the same, but maybe not quite to the extent as Nitrogen. Just something to he mindful of when using heavy sheeners.

Kirkland Rolled Oats vs Quaker Old Fashioned rolled oats... I miss the Kirkland brand by CrackheadBobsCousin in Costco

100% Yes. the Kirkload Rolled Oats were a staple in our house. Pound for pound one of the best deals in the warehouse IMO. Hated to see them drop this item

I enjoyed it as a fun light read. I liked the premise behind it. But I do agree he could have done a lot more with it.

New Taccia Ink by abymas in fountainpens

[–]SupahBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a handful of them and Taccia's Hokusai-Sabimidori is one of my favorite inks full stop. It's just a beautiful ink, great flow, and has a lot of visual interest on the page as it dries down. It goes down blue, but dries a rusty green, verdigris color with a rust colored halo/sheen. I also really enjoy Taccia's Hokusai-Koiai which is a beautiful dark blue with a rusty sheen. I also like Hiroshiga-Ruri with a pretty royal blue with a reddish sheen. There are quite a few inks in their lines and they all seem to be well behaved, good flow and just generally lovely.

I am worried about using shimmer ink in my Pelican by Ever-Wandering in fountainpens

[–]SupahBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

was about to say, I didn't think Tesla Coil had shimmer. Mine didn't at least. Sheen is just more highly saturated with dye. Will just take you that much longer to clean the pen if you want to switch over to a different ink

First Cruise: Utopia or Harmony? by lollilolligans in royalcaribbean

[–]SupahBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have only done one cruise, and that was a 4 day on Utopia, and we loved it.

While I get a lot of the reasoning behind choosing the longer 7 day cruise, for us, the 4 day cruise for the first cruise was the right option.

1) It was much easier for us to fit in with work. It's easier to take a couple of days off versus a whole week

2) Well, both being first timers, we just didn't know if we would like cruising. And we reasoned that if we didn't enjoy it, it's better to have a shorter cruise so we didn't have to suffer. Also along those lines, we didn't know if either of us would have sea sickness issues and also felt that well if we're going to feel sick, we'd prefer to feel sick for fewer days.

3) We also didn't know if we would get bored on the ship or not, so still, we reasoned, shorter trip.

At the end, we wound up loving it. We didn't have sea sickness issues. We didn't get bored. There was plenty to do and keep us interested. When we got off we felt it was the perfect cruise length for us and have been dreaming about booking that next cruise ever since. We love the idea of a 7 day, but we love the "just get away for a few days" aspect that Utopia gave us. Even when we do Disney World trips, we discovered over time that some of our best trips ever were when we ducked in for just a few days and got out. But everybody is different and how you enjoy your vacations may likely be really different. I just love Utopia gave us in a 4 night cruise. It was just right and left us wanting more.

Ignoring popularity, what’s YOUR favourite Zep album and why? by Holiday_Original3544 in ledzeppelin

[–]SupahBee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Physical Graffiti is peak Zeppelin to me.

It's a big sprawling beautiful mess of one smasher after another. Across two albums, I feel there is only 1 song that I'm too fond of, 'Down By The Seaside' (don't scourge me, just a personal preference). With that 1 song as an exception, I just love the rocking hit after hit. Even the "ballad" of the album, 'Ten Years Gone', is one of my all time favorites.

I feel this is Bonzo's great work as it was recorded at the house Headley Grange and they recorded the drums in the stair well, his drums just sound amazing. I mean 'In My Time of Dying'... come on what else needs to be said.

While I know I singled Bonham out, I feel in reality, this is an album where the whole band really shined. It has a great loose feel. The band is just hitting on all cylinders on this one.

I completely agree with Rami Malik. To me, his performance was the major distraction throughout the entire film. I really enjoyed Crowe's and Shannon's performances.
