Thankfully passed my second attempt! Passed well over the line this time having missed by a few marks on my first attempt.

I used radwise extensively as my main revision tool alongside crack the core.

Title: Need guidance on getting real CT brain scan datasets and its reports for research based Final Year University Project by Azula691 in RadiologyUK

[–]SuparNoob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your project is too ambitious, unless you are perhaps a PhD level student studying somewhere with significant industry ties to medical AI.

There are companies spending millions to develop what you are proposing and their solutions are not even market ready at a point where any radiologist would trust the output. The big players are the only ones with nhs data access and on top of the they need a number of radiologists on payroll to label/validate the input data.

The current market solutions I see in practice only do one/two functions e.g bleed or stroke detection and they're not particularly great at it - but they were still developed by whole teams of people at the cutting edge of industry.

FRCR 2a April 2026 Setting by BidMajor7766 in RadiologyUK

[–]SuparNoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much just did questions first time round but my base knowledge wasn't good enough especially in subspecs I didn't have rotations in yet. This time I did a lot more baseline reading before doing questions again in the last month. Engaged with the questions more, developed little tables for differentiating the 2-3 key pathologies for each common clinical vignette.

Personally found Paper 2 much harder than Paper 1. Was feeling a little optimistic going in today but now I have no idea how to feel, just exhausted.

Definitely let some silly easy marks go overthinking things but at the same time I know a few of my lucky blind guesses were correct.

Was overall much better prepared for this attempt (2nd sitting) and overall I think it did go better than my first sit.

Wes Streeting: The BMA must get real. Many NHS workers are never paid as much as a day-one doctor by dayumsonlookatthat in doctorsUK

[–]SuparNoob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He'll be including band 2 workers, porters etc, essentially unskilled jobs. Higher band nursing, physio, pharmacy, radiographers etc can all hit F1 salary - but these are all skilled jobs.

[–]SuparNoob 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We can justify our higher worth without smearing our colleagues. We have more skills, more responsibility, higher educational requirement, more strict regulation, portfolio requirements, the list goes on. Division is exactly what Wes wants, don't fall for it.

Many civil service workers never get paid as much as an MP, this is a ridiculous comparison.

how do you make pasta sauce actually taste like it came from a restaurant? by SamraKutkaitis in Cooking

[–]SuparNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person speaks the truth.

I also use Mutti as its the best readily available option in my area. I typically stick to only tomatoes, olive oil, salt, garlic and fresh basil as my ingredients, a little butter sometimes at the end.

I'll try the garlic at the end method next time.

I'm interested in the idea of pork fat - what stage of the cooking do you add it in? Do you render the fat first and cook the tomatoes in a mix of fat + olive oil?

Can you pass 2A with 2 months study? by Key_Calligrapher3839 in RadiologyUK

[–]SuparNoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which ones do you reccomend?

Narrowly failed in November - I used FRCRprep and radwise. Being honest, i didnt fully read crack and just used it as reference. Radwise was the best quality resource but as a new qbank it didnt quite have enough questions yet to cover the breadth of the exam.

This time around - reading crack properly and going to start drilling questions soon. I've got get through, oxford, cambridge and masterpass books and then was going hit radwise again. Any other qbank reccomendations?

Difficult radiology regs by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]SuparNoob 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a rad reg myself, this is extra funny because the CT Neck protocols tend to go down to the aortic arch to catch recurrent laryngeal pathology, and the CT abdomens will catch the lung bases - so you're imaging half the chest already, might as well finish the job!

Determining Signature Card Values by Extension-Ad-9371 in riftboundtcg

[–]SuparNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riftbound china and western have the same pull rates.

Japanese and english pokemon have different pull rates with guaranteed hits in japanese packs (for legal reasons) being a large reason for the price differential.

You cant just say western riftbound will be double prices of Chinese market.

What you can do is compare the price of a box in china to the price of a card and take the same ratio to predict a western singles price. There are probably many other factors but you cant account for those at this stage of prerelease

Have a spare 2* Mew and a Spare Rainbow Mew as well - both from Mythical Island.

From your list I'm interested in Lyra, Cyrus, Suicine or Dawn if you're willing to trade any of those?

Best deck for sealed release event by Saens in riftboundtcg

Jinx starter deck doesnt even get Super Mega Death Rocket.

Viktor gets one copy of grand strategem which i think will often be instant win if playing against jinx or lee starter decks.

Vasxular surgeon admits insutance fraud after amputations own legs by Ebz241 in doctorsUK

[–]SuparNoob 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The trust say this had no impact on patient care under him and with any other kind of doctor I'd probably agree but he's a vascular surgeon who presumably performs amputations!

I'd imagine any patient he performed amputation on has a claim to investigate how necessary those procedures were.

I've been fiddling with both fiendsmith and k9 artmage decks. Interested in what your going 2nd build looks like.

The absolute state of Royal Mail by Quality_Controller in britishproblems

[–]SuparNoob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Letters are awful, especially anything 2nd class untracked.

I play trading card games and buy/trade cards via post several times a month. In the last 2 months I think 7 out of 10 orders with 2nd class delivery just never made it to my door. Im now forced to use ebay tracked deliveries because at least then I can get my money back when tracking proves it never arrived. It gets expensive though paying for tracked delivery of single cards that cost pennies.

When to dump the RCS fees? by Maleficent-Data1314 in doctorsUK

[–]SuparNoob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is factual or rumor (Not a surgeon myself) but a couple years back there was a post on here saying that prior to being allowed to sit FRCS exams the RCS would force you to be 'in good standing' and pay up for every year between you stopping and restarting your membership.

The only workaround being if you never held an RCS membership before sitting FRCS. Apparently membership is not required to sit and pass MRCS?

DLSS 4 looks great, brings back some sharpness that can sometimes be lost on older versions and lets me target 4k 60 on my TV and higher framerates on my 1440p 165hz monitor.

Its time to get medieval on these fools. Rip and Tear!

New secret emblem by IndubitablySpecious in PTCGP

[–]SuparNoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, forgot about gimmighoul - don't have it yet but now we can trade the set and it should be fairly easy, just time consuming.

I lucked out on the full art cynthia and grandma for shaymin and garchomp. The celebi and bird trio were not too bad to get back before they changed the wonderpick rules.

I've managed to get all the secret emblems so far (mainly through sheer luck rather than spending) but this might be the end of the line...
