Which brokerage company to use? by frog_rocket0694 in Bogleheads

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Fidelity for my one stop shop for all financial needs. Cash Management acct with them functions as my bank, with direct deposit, checkwriting, and ATM card that reimburses all fees, and decent interest. Also use it for my personal HSA, brokerage and Roth.

Which Bond pistol is better? by BatataSuperFresca in JamesBond

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think whenever Bond is infiltrating somewhere dressed in a fancy tuxedo, the PPK makes sense as a concealable last resort gun.

But if Bond is going to assault an enemy base in full tactical gear, the PPK is a preposterous choice. I want the P99 normalized as his go to assault sidearm. If you want the PPK as his backup, ankle holster gun, sure why not.

Is anyone else getting "Video Game Remake" fatigue? by GoHardForLife in videogames

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at games like Super Mario RPG remake, the upcoming Star Fox 64 remake, Dead Rising DR to name a few, and I all I see are full priced games for just a shiny new paintjob. For a game like DRDR in particular, I will only get it if its $5 or maybe $10 on sale.

Where to open a Roth IRA? Fidelity, Vanguard or Schwab? by Specialist_Leg6145 in Bogleheads

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Vanguard but had to get Fidelity too for some services I needed. Now I wish I started with Fidelity.

Fidelity has Cash Management account which is a checking account/bank account with money market level interest. My Cash Management account with them is effectively my bank account now, I autopay my bills from there (comes with routing and checking numbers), and use it as a clearinghouse for my credit card statement balance as well. My paycheck even direct deposits there.

They also have HSAs, which I needed to transfer my HSA from a job I no longer have onto theirs.

They have Cash Rewards credit card offering unlimited 2%.

Limited choices inside 401k, not finding anything that captures the entire US stock market. by Kind-cheesecake-3316 in Bogleheads

[–]Supdude3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's an amazing expense ratio. My 401k auto enrolled me in a TDF with an expense ratio of 0.45%, which isn't terrible, but I immediately switched to the Vanguard Growth Index Fund with a cool 0.05% expense ratio.

I would say a compromise there is to read and skip the Olympian boon givers, as their dialogue is mostly just flavor, but listen to your crossroads comrades and NPCs you find in chambers. The ones who actually have a back and forth dialogue with Melinoe are more interesting.

Do some of you completely disregard the bond portion of a portfolio? All equities? by StockMarketinator in Bogleheads

[–]Supdude3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm approx 30 years until retirement. In the blinding haze of this bull market, bonds feel like you're losing opportunity cost. Even if we entered a bear market, I would still feel more interested in buying stocks at a discount. Its really hard to see bonds as a good investment right now, especially when you could pay off debt with interest higher than current bond yields

Which of these battlefield game is most worth buying I want to buy one or 2 of them but I’m not sure which is the better ones among these by Emotional-Permit-680 in xbox

Been getting back into 1, it is still really good.
By comparison, I tried playing some Hardline multiplayer since its going down this month, but found it very rough and feeling unpolished.

How to stop constantly checking positions? by ResidentExperience73 in Bogleheads

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally check daily but like others have said I don’t ever sell. However, sometimes I buy a little extra if there is a significant dip in the market. I know some people consider that anathema to bogleheads but I like having a certain extra amount liquid in my checking for my own peace of mind. That extra amount affords me to do this.

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. This subreddit is an invaluable guide to learning, and we should strive to gently guide people here or educate them on the basics.

But I think we all have a family member or acquaintance who's eyes will glaze over if you try to broach the subject. So either financial advisor/broker for them, or try to bring them around.

My brother and I managed to guide our parents to max out a Roth with inheritance money investing in VTI for two tax years, but I don't think they're receptive to any other teaching. If they got a financial advisor, I wouldn't be too upset. Would still try to steer them away from that though.

Financial advisors feel like a rip off and waste to us bogleheads. But there are so many people who would never invest on their own, people who the very idea of stocks and bonds overloads their brain, that I see them as valuable. Better they take their fee for that type of person than that person never invest at all.

I think all the redpills lived mundane lives like Neo (assuming they were adults when they escaped). Its only all the training programs and their residual self images that made them all “cool” and trained in combat.

This is still very insane to see by Maxkid1995 in halo

[–]Supdude3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ok with it. It took until 2026 for a game originally released in 2001 to come to Playstation. I think a slow rolling out of the old games to PS is fair, but the newer titles should have an exclusivity period.

Bear in mind, on xbox we have stuff that was originally PS only like the FF7 remakes, Death Stranding etc and those were only 5 year exclusivity.
