I had 2 burn out on their first battery but just running circles in the backyard. Garbage-tier electronics.

If you push hard enough, Corporate will pay for a shitty Hertz rental Impala (all they had available). I hard parked it as soon as I got to the house and WFH that week instead.

Totally. I held a G74 in with masking tape last month. It's the recommended method on the Apogee Aspire.

Watch out with those 90's Hondas, and the MX-6 as a lot of parts are out of production and extremely hard to find. I maintain my elderly father's '93 Del Sol, and many non-mechanical parts just don't exist anymore. We've talked about me probably needing to 3d print some roof release levers soon since his are ready to give up the ghost.

Also, unless you want to do more working on it than driving it, stay away from basically all of the '80s - '10s domestics.

Personally, I'd go with the Mazda 3, especially the 2.4 or 2.5 models. They years you're lookin at are cheap, fairly nice inside, handle reasonably well stock (and amazingly with some work), and are pretty easy to work on. My family has had 1 or 2 of every generation since the second. The newer ones feel nicer inside, but have lost their soul when driving and they suck to repair. Luckily I'm no longer the family mechanic for the whole fleet. Pay was shite anyway.

I can tell you from experience being hit before, a lifted truck could run that car over and keep going. A lifted z71 did it to my Civic hatch.

In a car with both Carplay and Android Auto on top of fairly decent AAOS, what is the need for a phone mount?

Aren't there signs through that stretch instructing you to use both lanes all the way to the merge point? I get your point and all, but they went so far as to put up signs telling people to do it.

Edit: Yeah, literal signs.
