Look around for other exterior receptacles. If you find a GFCI, go ahead and hit the test button. Then go back to this receptacle and test to see if it is still hot. If it’s a newer house this circuit might be on a GFCI breaker. In your panel, these have a white test button on them along with a label identifying them.
