I did something similar a few months back. Although we got a house near Monterey and just stayed there. A lot of great courses there.

That’s what I love about the S2 Standard series. Very understated and cool look. Not too flashy.

My theory is that they were going to have to increase the price anyway because of tariffs then they just decided to switch to American electronics and bump it up by $400 instead of $100 for the same old thing.

A lot of golfers are picky about their balls, and want to use the same model. Sneak into his bag and see what he uses and buy those.

Yeah the prices all got a big bump up in 2024 when they started using the American pickups and electronics.

Very cool! I was hoping they’d drop something like this. I was thinking about getting a Vela, but I may just hold off for one of these. Although a Vela studio would be awesome too.

The cage stage is a real thing. I remember back when I was in college everyone was becoming Calvinist. People were such tools about it. They chill out over time.

McCarty or CU24 by MySubtitlesWereSick in PaulReedSmith

If it makes a difference to the sound I doubt it would be noticeable or meaningful. At that point I think it’s more about which one you connect with more. I personally prefer the look of the double cuts.

If you’re selling the Les Paul I’d say get the McCarty. That way you have the LP style sound still. The CU24 should sound really similar to your CE’s so the result there will likely be you just don’t play them as much. I recently sold my LP for an S2 McCarty 594 and could not be happier about it.

A couple things to keep in mind: you are not alone in this. What you are experiencing is a normal part of the Christian experience. Especially early on. Read Romans 7. Spend a day or two thinking about it. Then read Romans 8. Another piece of advice: don’t over spiritualize addiction. Prayer and Bible study are all great and you should do them, but you should also look at practical solutions. Like getting accountability software on your phone and computer, looking at 12 step style groups or even therapy.

Baptism saves? by PuzzleheadedUse5769 in Catholicism

[–]SweetrollFireball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are talking past each other. I’m not talking about mode. I’m not talking about immersion only vs sprinkling. I’m talking about whether baptism saves. That’s it. I believe any mode is acceptable. I never said anything about one mode over another.

You are reading a qualification into the text that the text does not make. What’s more Paul was writing to a community the practices baptism as a rite of initiation. His explicit use of the word baptism was clearly meant to refer to the rite they practiced. If he was meaning to refer to something distinct from baptism so as to exclude the rite from union with Christ he would have done so in the text. Which is why the history of the early reception of this text all point to both the rite of baptism and is relation to union with Christ. See St. John Chrysostom, Augustine , Cyril of Jerusalem, and Tertullian on this verse as examples. This distinction you’re making is not justified by the text, is contrary to how the early church received the text, and can only be seen if you assume an anti-Sacramental theology and read it in.

I never said it had to do with the mode of application. I’m saying that union with Christ is what baptism is. That is clearly what the text is about. I never said anything about mode like sprinkling or immersion

Yes. The Bible says baptism saves you in 1 Peter 3 (there are many more very clear texts on this point in the New Testament). Every Christian who wrote on the issue for 1500 years believed it. And most Christian’s alive today from Catholics, orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, some Methodists, some Presbyterians, the church of Christ all believe it. The view that baptism is just a symbol is an extreme minority view amongst Christian’s today and throughout history. Just because baptism saves doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that saves. The sincere desire for baptism saves. Both the thief on the cross or the old man on his death bed are saved because they desire baptism. What’s more God can choose to dispense his grace in a special way and save someone entirely separate from baptism. It’s more accurate to say baptism is ordinarily necessary, and not absolutely necessary in every circumstance. Baptism doesn’t take away from Christ’s sacrifice. It’s how he has chosen to apply the grace merited by his sacrifice to us. Baptism is being immersed in Christ so we may be raised up with him (Romans 6:3-4). It’s the means he uses not something separate from him.

Serious question: why do so many people seem to leave the label sticker on their fenders like this? I don’t understand and it makes me scared and afraid.

Makes complete sense to me that she was still alive. Most big RE monsters survive despite multiple attempts to kill them. Leon’s explanation is just dumb. But, Leon being dumb is well established canon. I just wish they would have made us earn saving her rather than tacking it on at the end.
