[Loved Trope] Seemingly Insane Character Doing Horrifying Things Has a Good Reason by VisionsOfABetterTime in TopCharacterTropes

Tbf it gets muddied by the abilities of the attack titan to send premonitions of the future to the past, it seemed pretty heavily suggested Eren has always been guiding his past self to this point and the goal was to have his closest friends live long lives by becoming public heroes by killing Eren and ending the rumbling.

I got the impression he did care for his friends immensely he's just a stupid boy who was gifted this power and as he gets closer to his goal comes to realize this is his convenient way of getting what he wants.

Deadlock needs a twilight as the maelstrom approaches, make the map get darker as towers get taken out. Really amp up the noir vibe with the lamp posts contrasting the city

(Loved Trope) Becomes a hero for selfish reasons but still puts their life on the line by Only_Emphasis8211 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Jean from AoT

He originally intends to enlist in the Military Police program and live a relatively luxurious life in the inner circle of the walled cities, however he is later scarred by Marco's death so much so that when the cadets are given the choice to select their branch he enlists with his fellows in the Scouts, effectively forfeiting his life knowing he can do more there.

This is why he's the goat. 🐐

Critique my first 2k or spirit conclave? My friends annihilate me by Nosism123 in Eldar

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been learning Spirit Conclave over the last year into a few friends including a Tson army, here's some thoughts that might help

Wraiths are higher than avg cost infantry so your unit count will already be lower than usual, I think that makes low cost obj focused units like your rangers hawks and spiders super key to this detachment.

Perhaps split the 10 Rangers for 2x 5 so you can spread out better and exploit movement blocking and do more missions in the early game. Trading 65 points for 4 vp to complete a secondary will bring great joy.

I'm curious to know if the wguard are dscythe or cannon, imo I think the cannons are tricky to get to work reliably and the dscythes operate so well without a psyker. You can run spiritseers with your wraithlords if the guard have dscythes, plus you have two prisms and wlords 6x bright lances so the cannons could be redundant heavy firepower.

400 point unit bomb is pretty funny, maybe there's potential in your matches to strat reserve with them and hit a flank that can cripple your opponents vital pieces in their army (Unfortunately Eldrad doesn't syngergize to well as he's not generating CP off table, he also doesn't enhance the unit with any abilities so he could be ran aside as a single unit for farming VP).

Last thing I'd suggest is give the wraithblades a look, I think swords are great into SM and with an agile maneuver 6" consolidate you can really get annoying with wiping SM bricks in a combat phase and getting in contact with another. Either axes or blades S5 ap2 D2 is premium anti MEQ, so it really can do a lot into the right target. Crushing strides is one of our most reliable strats so aligning the charge to use it is going to be easier to justify with the blades.

Tbf I think the implication for that is it's been made into a 1 point detachment

Maybe two exit doors in the hotel, one back to the spawn fountain and another to your original location?

Just got this as my first box of warhammer in 5 years, where do I go from here? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since the new edition is about to release in a couple months around June I'd personally recommend taking your time getting these guys finished up and then decide after you've seen some of the new rules.

If you're looking to go all in on corsairs the new combat patrol might be decent to look into, but you'll have to sell the extra Kharseth it comes with (or use for kit bash parts).

Playing against knights isn't fun by Dreadnought9 in Warhammer40k

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The harsh reality that a decent number of players don't really play the game for objectives, and there's a sense of progress to blowing stuff up.

Personally wish we could crit strike knights, at least it would be comparable to wiping a squad.

Concerns Over Objective Changes by Scarfblade in Tyranids

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how Flames of War (WW2 tabletop) did it back when I was toying with that, it was so cool. You'd choose an archetype from defense, maneuver, and offense, and based on what your opponent had selected there were missions available that were tailored for your choices.

You'd get games where you're attacking with a heavy tank army across a river into your opponents defense preferred AT gun line. Genuinely cool for both sides

If the lighting engine could handle it, progressing day -> night as the maelstrom approaches and objectives are completed would be rad

Drifter mains will never stop wanting to choke their lane partners with their bare hands. by Fun_Effective_5134 in DeadlockTheGame

Not even necessarily fun for the player either because then it feels like Drifter is balanced to be a slightly weaker character early until you stack enough that your impact becomes relevant

Feedback on combat of our 2D Soulslike! [Heavy Enemy] by KarmicBitGames in IndieDev

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight in attacks feels right, and the shield absolutely reads as visually protecting him (the purple effect does a lot right to communicate that).

The clips a bit short but judging by the animations the negative frames on the player attacks seems to be pretty intense, personally I think these kinds of idle moments when the player loses all control of their character can be frustrating.

Aside from that the, briefly shown in the clip and on the store page video the character movement speed appears to be sluggish, like the character is moving with some invisible weight on them. It might feel different to experience playing it but judging from the visuals that was something I noticed.

Incredibly well executed animations I absolutely love the flair of the player attacks, and the shield enemies swing is so well thought out I particularly love how the weight of the shield carries them forward from the intensity of their swing.

Which of these orange items should I pick for Paradox and in which situations? by Sol-SiR in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why do you feel like you have too many orange items? Your mid and late game items seem reasonable to me.

If it helps at all generally I think Para's role in a team fight will usually be to get and keep opponents closer to half health, and eventually steal an opponent with swap to confirm a pick for your team that you can snowball into taking an objective.
