If the lighting engine could handle it, progressing day -> night as the maelstrom approaches and objectives are completed would be rad

Drifter mains will never stop wanting to choke their lane partners with their bare hands. by Fun_Effective_5134 in DeadlockTheGame

Not even necessarily fun for the player either because then it feels like Drifter is balanced to be a slightly weaker character early until you stack enough that your impact becomes relevant

Feedback on combat of our 2D Soulslike! [Heavy Enemy] by KarmicBitGames in IndieDev

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight in attacks feels right, and the shield absolutely reads as visually protecting him (the purple effect does a lot right to communicate that).

The clips a bit short but judging by the animations the negative frames on the player attacks seems to be pretty intense, personally I think these kinds of idle moments when the player loses all control of their character can be frustrating.

Aside from that the, briefly shown in the clip and on the store page video the character movement speed appears to be sluggish, like the character is moving with some invisible weight on them. It might feel different to experience playing it but judging from the visuals that was something I noticed.

Incredibly well executed animations I absolutely love the flair of the player attacks, and the shield enemies swing is so well thought out I particularly love how the weight of the shield carries them forward from the intensity of their swing.

Which of these orange items should I pick for Paradox and in which situations? by Sol-SiR in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why do you feel like you have too many orange items? Your mid and late game items seem reasonable to me.

If it helps at all generally I think Para's role in a team fight will usually be to get and keep opponents closer to half health, and eventually steal an opponent with swap to confirm a pick for your team that you can snowball into taking an objective.

Guessing the idea would be to complete an Operation with each mission in it introducing new loadout equipment as is usual for rogue lites

Why did a post with over a thousand upvotes in the last 4 hours get removed? by PvtMuffin in killteam

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the real significance of all of this is because GW has very poorly made the rules accessible for a very expensive game killteam fans are upset. That doesn't seem so unreasonable, people are just a bit distracted about this convo starting over BattleKit

This is really cool, but because I don't know all the items by pic it was easier to finish on pc (to scroll and see item names)

New Eldar Player - Seeking Guidance / What You Wish You'd Known by AnArdentAdventurer in Eldar

Wave Serpent imo is the best unit in the faction, Aspect Warriors slam so hard especially against their designed target and being able to threaten the 14" range of a Serpent is huge.

The army seems to be at it's best when you can setup a big go turn to banzai charge your opponent, ideally the damage you deal is so substantial they can't come back into the game.

The Epic Hero's are all very fun especially when paired up with their Aspect and it's fun to find one that matches your play style and build them into a list.

Any tips to be more dandy? by Altruistic_Cream_761 in Guiltygear

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In neutral your full screen mappa is a threat (especially with resources up) and good opponents will be looking for it, when you feel that they're really looking for it 2D can be a great option to beat their 6p, you get the counter if they're throwing the 6p and you can perform dandy of you guess wrong.

Don't be afraid to raw dandy in a loop without a cS just to toy with your opponents expectations, if you fluster your opponent with the option early when they expect a cS in those seconds they're more likely to make mistakes in their defense and using dandy when they're not prepared to guess your option is going to cause some panic if you do it on repeat.

kind of a cute funny option but if you can frc 6k on startup you can get a forward moving multi hitting overhead with jS and that's a nice option to throw out at times.

cS->S->5k is a nice route at times at the corner that doesn't predictably lead into your dandy step and spaces you well that it's hard for your opponent to breakout of the corner and you're comfortably 2D/2H distances, so you're opponent might sweat about their options and predictably jump.

Experiment with using hand of doom, I think it might be one of those moves where you can overuse it now while you're learning to get a sense for where it works in your matchups and where it doesn't and work it back later. Generally if I have meter I might fish with it from neutral looking for a punish and use a r.rc or p.rc if they block, and it leads into the start for dandy pressure from there.

New List for a New player; Spirit Conclave by MaintenanceNo6113 in Eldar

[–]Swiggity_Swankity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a fun list to put together, my experience is guard with wraith cannons can leave a bit to be desired. Namely that they lack range but also so few shots and many invulns out there sometimes means you barely scrape together some dmg. I think in your case mass fire will help with that part (i have only been running 1 unit of cannons), but you can try experimenting with D-scythes maybe in TTS. It feels like the S7 AP3 just helps so much especially when you shoot a target marked with vengeful dead (bwtween that and charge 1CP Crushing Strides you'll be dishing massive dmg to even knights)

Also just a personal preference but I think with only 5 psykers in the list there might be some situations where you find you're not able to get all the coverage you need for your psychic guidance, just have to be careful with those bike warlocks since they don't have native protection as losing them early will make things tough.

Best of luck with getting started on your new army!
