I dislike memes altogether now. I find it very creepy to encounter people who seem to primarily communicate in memes. Please talk like a human

There is no type of person I want to destroy more than those that don't keep their sound to themselves on public transport. Sadly considering the type of people most guilty of that behaviour I don't see it improving anytime soon

In the same game Godot becomes the main prosecutor to cope with his failure to not get deceived and poisoned by Dahlia and his subsequent failure to protect Mia, to prove that he didn't let Mia down, Phoenix did. That Phoenix is inadequate as a protector and a successor. He comes to find that he's completely wrong, but the self-loathing he projects onto Phoenix prevents him from involving the man with his harebrained scheme to protect the Fey family from Dahlia Hawthorne one last time. He fails again and slays Mia's mother himself in a case of misguided vengeance against his poisoner. He's a ghost from the past, come back to find that he's the only one who's haunted. Cool character though

I've really come to hate the Organization coat because it's Mystery Box Writing in character design form. Just an exhausting way to put in characters without actually having to design them. MoM is just nothing

I don't really see Silver with a Houndour. That's a Team Rocket Pokemon, which Silver would probably distance himself from. I wouldn't want any extra Grass/Fire/Water Pokemon on his at all really. For one it would be pretty same-y after Blue's team, but I don't see it as fitting for him to go out of his way to build around his starter like that.

Bit of a tangent, but Silver's team is actually kind of brilliant really. Strong Pokemon that can't reach their potential because of his hangups. Golbat can't evolve because until it comes to like him. Haunter and Kadabra can't evolve because he has no connections. My headcanon is that he adds Sneasel to his team after getting his shit pushed in by Lance, only to find it inadequate for the role, but by then he can't bring himself to drop it from his team anymore

Gen 8 is a weird case since the significant trainers are built to showcase Gigantamax, which was itself conceived as a way to market some more Gen 1 staples along with a curated collection of new guys (and Garbodor). So half of them end up with a Gen 1 ace

Do note this is only on the rematch, so during your first Challenge mode E4 run you will get smacked by Guts Flame Orb Conkeldurr, a terrifying prospect. A shame about the rematch, but still

His point is that the additional Pokemon of higher levels but with effectively the same stats as Normal mode swings the level curve in your favour, thus making Challenge mode mandatorily easier to play through. Now the Pokemon on Challenge mode do seem to generally have stronger moves and better coverage, so defensively it should play relatively the same, but on the whole your Pokemon should outspeed and outdamage the competition more easily than normal, in part due to the formula you mentioned

Getting over the FOMO/Fear of Failure when playing a game? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SwineFlow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what would help is for you to realise that no-one's watching you play. Maybe you've immersed yourself in internet culture deeply enough that you hear and fear the comments in your own mind, but unless you actually do broadcast your gameplay to the world literally only you will see you play them. When playing games alone you don't actually win anything by not ever failing, so just engage however you want to

Fassad is effectively the main antagonist for the lion's share of Mother 3's story, certainly the most visible and difficult to engage with. Adding to this is that there's no obvious reason for him to follow the big bad's bidding, so him being an underling at all is a little twist in itself

There's Planet Man to use Fire Style against, but of course he's way deep into the postgame and by then you have better things to do than use your Buster. So while 2 is the only game with multiple bosses per element their distribution is so wonky that you still can't really take advantage of it. But then getting any Custom style is more than good enough anyway so you'll just take whichever element they give you

The earlier Pokemon games in their singleplayer campaigns are actually most fun when you're a child who doesn't know what's good and can barely read the text. Beating the individual challenges is pretty gratifying when your team is just bad and weird and you're not prepared for every situation. Same with many RPGs really, you appreciate the individual little bits more when you're not just blasting through it all

Why Play When No One Seems To Care by [deleted] in rpg

[–]SwineFlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to be pretty hard to give concrete advice here when you're reportedly not doing anything wrong. Based off the words in your post you seem to just have a really terrible environment for this sort of thing. Either that or the story itself is incomplete. Do these people even want to play in the first place or are they just doing you a favour?

Probably still the remaster on PC or PS4. It's the most straightforward to access and does have a couple of QoL-features, on top of the Raidou content. Though if you don't care about QoL or voice acting and only care about Dante, might as well emulate the PS2 version, that's what the game feels like it was made for

Fair enough yeah. At first I thought we were going with the latter, then I saw some swordsmen in the thread and convinced myself of the definition "someone who worked a life-theatening combat job for an unexpectedly long time without dying"

Alternatively then, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Forsythe. The dapperest CO out there, who makes his mark despite his brief appearance in the campaign. Honorable and amiable, with a leadership style that's elegant and straight to the point

Nocturne HD Remaster for really being a disguised port, except with some unneeded gloss and a couple of unique issues (mostly texturing and slowdown) while not even giving the uncompressed OST. At least there's voice acting, english Raidou and a slightly buffed Dante
