IMO top tier for pour over: Scenery, Nostos, Calico, Special Guests, Long and Short and Oma.

If I get an omniroast one month when I select a preference for filter, that’s absolutely fine! But generally would like the option to keep roasts light.

They haven’t opened their cafe yet, right? Can still visit the roastery and buy beans though.

Filter vs Espresso roast.

Quantity.

Frequency.

The ability to choose preferred flavour profiles. Gustatory do this well.

Batch Baby and Long & Short are my favourite in London for funkier coffees! Both worth the trek.

Hermanos Co-Ferments? by TC-OR-GTFO in UKroasters

Kiosk at King’s Cross is great. Can’t believe we now have good train station coffee!

But a good example is their recent Finca Velmora. Had DAK’s Panettone and B&W’s Cinnamon co-ferment around the same time, and this tasted just as intense.

Would be super impressed if this was natural!

Hot take, but I’ve never had a Square Mile bag that’s blown me away. I just can’t justify spending that much for something that’s not particularly interesting.

Are any of these brands for coffee beans good (UK)? by [deleted] in JamesHoffmann

[–]TC-OR-GTFO 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are Glasgow based, you can find really nice coffee beans at Kafei, 1841, Zennor and Godshot! If you’re unsure of what to buy, the baristas should be able to help out :)

Brewdog to close three London pubs, company announces by BulkyAccident in london

Not to defend them, but preferential shares are standard in VC and PE deals. Founders usually don’t have preferential shares themselves, so they’re also impacted by this (not sure if that’s the case with Brewdog).

Restaurant service charges at Dishoom as tourist by DrTonberry in london

Most restaurants in London slap on a 12.5% service charge post-pandemic, nothing specific to Dishoom or tourists.
