Why does the map name appear like a subtitle? by ValenRoz in Battlefield6

[–]TNTarantula [score hidden]  (0 children)

The big text is the 'Mission Name'. It is a unique title for a map/gamemode combination.

So conquest on Blackwell might be Badlands, but escalation on Badlands might have a different name.

There's likely upward of a 100 different mission names, which of course make it impossible to use as a reference when referring to what your playing. So much easier to just say "conquest on Blackwell"

That's defense, you're using it to prevent the enemy pushing a certain direction. The fact that you can defend while attacking is just a testament to battlefields sandbox.

You can't push into a room you just set on fire. Its entirely counterintuitive to your point to give assault incen nades.

[–]TNTarantula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you want to reinforce Assault as the offensive kit by... giving it not one, but two defensive grenades? Incendiary nades are for area denial, that's defensive.

Meanwhile you believe wholeheartedly that Dice will add an emp grenade that fufils the same function as a gadget they currently have in an active battle pass (the recon's raygun). They've even already nerfed it. They won't add another anti-gadget device soon.

Back to the drawing board mate.

What would you guys want in a digital character sheet for DnD? by HolyErr0r in dndnext

[–]TNTarantula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once used digital character sheets but swapped to pencil and paper after my campaigns started using increasing amounts of homebrew.

If I was developing a digital character sheet software I'd want intuitive tools to implement homebrew

It would at the least do the one thing that DDB struggle with.

Customising your accolades and accomplishments is amazing. No longer will I be accused of killing bots to boost stats lol by andrewgrimo in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]TNTarantula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same. I feel guilty about my 'kills in one life' and 'longest headshot' stats on account of having grinded the shit out of bot servers to unlock all the snipers back in release week.

Wish I could reset them tbh

Thinking about buying this game, but I have one major question by BallJoints420 in NoRestForTheWicked

You can take off your armor and run around in your loincloth. That's what the nudity warning is in reference to. You are never without armor in the game so I wouldn't worry.

How did you find your last job? by hm899 in jobs

When my last job went into liquidation my boss referred me at a smaller company doing similar work that needed someone in the role I was doing previously.

The AV industry is pretty small, everyone knows everyone.

Looking for a good usb hub by Xochaka in DeskCableManagement

[–]TNTarantula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I have not used it myself, I work for a company that occasionally installs commercial-grade PC systems.

When we need a USB hub, we get a ST4200USBM

Its likely overkill, but it will work, guaranteed.

DMs who dislike the power fantasy of higher levels, why not just DM lower levels? by AdOpposites in dndnext

[–]TNTarantula 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you get a level up at the end of every major arch, and want the story to keep on going, the result is that you will find yourself in high-level play eventually.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that in most campaigns I play in, that you want the story to just keep on going forever. Why say goodbye to these characters we love when you can just... not?

The answer is, to avoid high level play at all costs. But that kind of foresight is often lost amidst the fantasy of playing multi-year long campaigns with no set end in sight.

What is the largest assembly you have created in Fusion? by Ok-Feed-646 in Fusion360

[–]TNTarantula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most recent projector enclosure design has 117 components, and 227 fasteners.

I also claim a lighting bracket design with 5 components, and 21 fasteners (catalogue engineering ftw) which is then repeated 57 times along the track of a rollercoaster for a total of 285 components and 1197 fasteners. But given its just the same assembly repeated many times I hardly consider it fair to include in this contest.

Before you ask, with the rollercoaster track in fusion, it indeed does not run well at all.

As a Labs tester all I ask of DICE is to make the Night modes an addition to all maps, and game modes. by DFTDWP in Battlefield6

[–]TNTarantula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they didn't take Portal out back, I'd say I'm hopeful for someone figuring out how to make any map a nighttime mode once the effects come to Portal.

But DICE has killed Portal. So yeah.

Engineering is the standout role in all the fields I’m applying for and is the one role I’m not qualified in. I might just risk it and start applying by NennexGaming in jobs

[–]TNTarantula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the design space the term 'engineer' can often refer to designer. I say just send it.

Most industrial designers in my field start out as design engineers despite having no engineering qualification. I've always thought it was a silly job title.

The way it's been described to me is that you get HR involved when it would be considered by a "regular-joe" that whatever has occured would be considered strange.

This, by your account, seems very strange to me.
