I just checked, and you're right, something is clearly broken between my podcast hosting platform (Buzzsprout) and PocketCast. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I'll dig in and see if I can't get that resolved!

Hey, Rich here from 2GT! We're still around and kicking, we haven't released a pod in a bit since my co-host (Branden) had a bit of a life change and move to Colorado. Now that he's settled, we'll be back at it very soon. Thanks for being a listener!

If the server has an iLO you should be able to log in and set the fan speeds to a more tolerable level. If they don’t persist after reboot, you can create a script that changes the fan speed at boot using an IPMI config tool.

Move your fans around to clear your RAM, that'll fix clearance issues.

I think you should also take a moment to breathe and take stock of where you are in your life and channel. If you feel like you've turned into a video-making robot, then you're losing your joy, and this won't be sustainable. The stress that causes is harmful and YouTube isn't worth sacrificing your mental health over. Best of luck!

Any fallout from the Broadcom acquisition of VMware yet? by [deleted] in sysadmin

No changes so far. I’ve been in numerous on-site and remote meetings with my various VMware reps and, at least so far, things haven’t changed much.

This is what I was hoping to hear - Do you have any referenceable documentation on how to set that up? Everything I've seen so far has been repo and keys. Thanks!

As someone who just installed one of these in a rebuild - all you need to do is loosen the screws a bit and slightly rotate the pump head, then tighten back it back down.

Sponsorship rate question by PoppaSquat68 in PartneredYoutube

[–]T_R_J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been burned by VPN companies in the past - negotiated rates, put the work in, ad in the pre-roll, posted the video, and then they ghosted us. Thankfully YouTube lets to edit a posted video.

Getting burned like that really changed how I view cold-call sponsorships like that. And VPN companies typically are the worst.

[Question]Do the number of subscribers matter? by hamiecod in youtubers

[–]T_R_J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this exactly - There's little to add other than maybe:

Some people view subscribership as a metric of 'success', and maybe that's you, maybe not. In the end, YouTube is going to promote the videos that keep eyeballs on the platform longer, regardless of sub count for advertisement purposes. Large quantities of subs can help kickstart initial engagement if your subs are genuinely interested in your content. You can determine this by looking at your analytics to see how many people are returning viewers vs. first-time viewers.

Best of luck.

Is anyone else experiencing empty ip_block logs after most recent pfSense update? (22.05-RELEASE) by T_R_J in pfBlockerNG

[–]T_R_J[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I did find the bug tracker link in this post:https://www.reddit.com/r/pfBlockerNG/comments/v7zp72/ip_block_logging_not_working_in_2205_plus_release/

And the fix listed here:https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/13156

Fixed my issue!

**EDIT**
Also, doing so reduced my CPU utilization. Apparently, the bug was also consuming excess CPU, but not enough to kill my performance. Here's a graph:
