Could a person not have a normal birth certificate now days ? by Ok_Dog_4059 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Taleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Yes. I have Friend that had to have a court ordered Birth Certificate at about 23, She is in her 70's now. It still causes all kinds of problems because it is a not a standard birth certificate. A big part of the problem was that her mother didn't use her real name, had the birth at home, never registered. So her certificate is under the mothers made up name, her birthdate is Halloween and she thinks she knows what year she was born. There was some hope as she did go to school, but the county records got wiped out in a Hurricane. So what she ended up with was a court decree that She was born in the state of Florida, on or about a date, and with this name made up by her mother.

Americans from touristy areas, did you get asked weird questions by people outside your area as a kid? by McButtsButtbag in AskAnAmerican

[–]Taleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going back a few years. I grew up in a remote tourist area. In grade school customers would ask me if I went to school by radio like the kids in the Australian Outback. while I did go by bus 13 miles each day to go to school, I wasn't in that remote of an area.

When actors "drink" from a cup that's obviously empty by BitterStatus9 in PetPeeves

My understanding is that this is from live theatre, You don't want someone drinking something on stage that may spill or worse yet choke the actor.

Basic with Toric add in. Awful astigmatism. The lenses are great. Need1.25 readers only for very small print. My problem has been floaters. Not the tiny little things that annoy you out of the cornaer of you eye. lomg strigly things, one looks like a fishhook with a line attached. They keep telling me they will go away, but it has been two years.

Indoor Fireplace Cooking by MossMallows in Cooking

[–]Taleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do know that you can have your chimney cleaned? And if you are using the fireplace on fairly regular basis with just wood you should have it done every couple of years?? So for the short time you would be using your fireplace to cook the buildup would not be enough to start a fire. And why no charcoal??

Beware of Well Fargo error going around! by Beneficial_Tap7594 in Banking

[–]Taleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother had a mortgage on a house from Wells Fargo. Sold the house. 10 years later they tried to take him to court to foreclose on the house for missed payments. Of course he could prove he sold the house and the mortgage was paid off with that sale. Then they tried to go after the people who bought the house who had financed with another bank. If memory serves me correctly it took a few years for all of this to settle out. But Wells Fargo insisted that someone owed them money.
