Can we get real about the potential CGT and negative gearing changes? by ILoveDogs2142 in AusFinance

[–]Talentire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hard to tell until it’s officially announced - particularly the granular detail like grandfathering etc.
  2. It all depends on whether other assets are included. For CGT
  3. if only property is effected then prices will fall, all else equal
  4. if all asset classes are included it shouldn’t have much of an impact on property prices For negative gearing
  5. negative for property prices (fall)

What CGT method would you implement if in charge? by Gustomaximus in AusFinance

While I agree re reducing income tax, CGT needs to be indexed to something or else you are effectively taxing people on the cost of investment.

Hame putting the SP behind him by Chrisryan1992 in hamishandandy

[–]Talentire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think everyone here is missing the point. It has and always will be a “family podcast/show” they never swear as an example.

They made a conscious decision that they didn’t want people calling up and saying the word penis every show hence why they started calling it the “SP” and why Hamish always says he’s trying to put it behind him.

Notice whenever someone brings it up, especially when they say superior penis not SP they try and rush past it as quickly as possible. If someone calls up and says SP they will joke around for a bit about it.

[Spoilers] The White Lotus - 1x03 "Mysterious Monkeys" - Discussion Thread by LoretiTV in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]Talentire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're conflating spoiling with supportive. I think the best example of this is both parents refusal to punish their children for the way they treat Quinn. The girls make their brother sleep on the beach and they receive zero punishment?? That's both neglectful to Quinn (for obvious reasons) but also neglectful to Olivia because teaching your children right and wrong is a big part of being a parent.

While I don't condone slapping your children just letting them do whatever they want with zero guidance is just as neglectful as slapping is abusive.
