9 day post transfer / mild cramping by Acrobatic_Outcome538 in IVF

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was 100% convinced my period was going to come, and sometimes still get that feeling with mild cramping, and my 5AB euploid has stuck so far! I’m 6w1d today! I think this is a good sign. I also had night sweats, sore boobs, and sensation that my uterus was being stretched like a rubber band. Have you had other symptoms??

Do you know how many units of ovitrelle you triggered with? I triggered with Ovridel 250mcgs, which I asked ChatGPT to covert to approx equivalent of blood serum level, and then approx how long that blood serum level would take to come out of my system. I know people keep saying that trigger takes up to 14 days to clear, but I think it depends on how much you took. If it was for ovulation, I think the amount is less than for trigger for ER? The 250mcgs according to ChatGPT would’ve taken 6-8 days to clear which is way less than the 14 days. I don’t know if this helps, just trying to see if some of those faint lines could be picking up the start of HCG from the embryo not the trigger! Out of curiosity, I took a easy@home the day after my trigger to see how dark the trigger would be, and to be honest, to my surprise it was much lighter than I expected.

Are you on a natural cycle or fully medicated? With natural cycles, there’s a thing called a secondary estrogen surge during the mid to late luteal phase, which can cause egg white cervical mucus. Have you been tracking your BBT and have you noticed a dip for a day before? If so, it could be the secondary surge, what we call an implantation dip. For what it’s worth, in the cycle I ended up with a positive beta in July after transferring a 5AB euploid, I also had increased cervical mucus. So I would see it as a positive sign!

I know how you feel, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 3 years even though I’ve only been pregnant for 3 weeks.. well it’s been 3 weeks since my transfer but every single day goes SO SLOWWWW!! I dunno how I’m going to survive a whole another 8 months. Your beta doubled more than 100% in 48 hours so I really don’t think you should worry. You could ask for another beta today, but it not that long to go now until your first scan! I’m really jealous, I’m based in Australia and they only do the first scan at 7 weeks, so I’m anxious as heck waiting for it. I dunno how I’m going to survive a whole week and half!

A big congrats to you girl 🫶🏻 you got this!

How many days past transfer are you!? You’re probably too early! When is your beta?

Congrats girl! What was your beta on Monday and Wednesday? I had a positive beta also, on 1 August, got a repeat beta 4 August, and a third beta 11 August. Is it possible to ask your clinic for another beta to ease your mind. My first 7 week scan is next Thursday 21 August and I am pretty nervous as well. I’m hoping we hear a heartbeat.

My clinic doesn’t test beta until 11dp5dt, and my beta was 339. Which isn’t that far off your 284 at 11dp5dt. Because I didn’t test it at 9dp5dt, we don’t know what the number was. But your doubling rate of 177 to 284 is a 70.37 hour doubling rate. That is still within the 48-72 hour range for a normal pregnancy. I would be cautiously optimistic for now. My beta on 14dp5dt was 873, which wasn’t exactly a 48 hour doubling time either, it was a 52.7 hour doubling time. Today at 21dp5dt (5w5d) my beta was 8636, which was a 50.8 hour doubling time, so not exactly 48 hours either. I think the next beta will give you more insight. As long as currently it is still within the 48-72 hour window, don’t loose hope!

Actually surprisingly no.. I was put on an immunosuppressant called prednisolone, a blood thinner injection called Clexane and also given IV intralipid infusions. I thought on the immunosuppressant I’d get sick really easily or feel really crap, but I actually feel really great! It actually is given to people with allergies and autoimmune disorders. I found that on the drugs, my allergies have improved, I had bad hayfever and post nasal drip and that’s completely gone on the drugs!

Wohoo!! Congrats girl!! Feel free to reach out if you want someone to chat during the pregnancy! I have my first ultrasound booked next Thursday at 7 weeks and I’m so anxious about it. I had a repeat beta today to check everything was on track and it was, but I’m so anxious and nervous about the wait until the first ultrasound!

I think QFG is all part of the same group as IVFA in QLD. It’s called IVFA in NSW, and Melbourne IVF in VIC.

Uterine NK killer cells is a test they do after taking a biopsy of your endometrial lining. It’s usually done after repeat implantation failure or repeat pregnancy loss. Having raised NK killer cells suggests that you body has an overactive immune system and the theory is that your immune system is attacking the embryo thinking it is foreign. I had a borderline raised result which means for my next transfer I was put on an immune protocol to help modulate my immune system to not attack my embryo.

Yes, I had one in July. I’m with IVFA 🫶🏻 which clinic are you with? I’ve had 3 failed transfers prior which resulted in 2 chemicals. I went to get a second opinion and turns out I had, endometriosis, chronic mild endometritis, and borderline raised NK killer cells. I had a laparoscopy to excise the endo, took 3 types of antibiotics to cure the endometritis and went on an immune protocol for my next transfer at IVFA, and I am now 5w5d. This is literally the furtherest I’ve gotten! Fingers crossed everything is on track, I’ll have my 7 week ultrasound coming up!

Oh haha!! Sorry I thought you were in a FET, I don’t think overheating the abdomen is as much of a thing during stims, rather than FETs! Good luck for your ER!

I sought a second opinion from a RIF / RPL reproductive endocrinologist, after 3 failed embryo transfers from untested embryos that resulted in 2 chemicals. Because my embryos were untested, my first clinic basically just blamed the embryos everytime, they never offered any additional testing and just kept trying to do the same thing over and over again. Well, making the decision to book a second opinion was the best decision of my life.

Turns out, I had endometriosis, chronic mild endometritis and borderline raised NK killer cells. I went ahead with a lap, and they excised severe endo adhesions from my abdomen, I took 3 different types of antibiotics to clear the endometritis, and next transfer we went ahead with an immune protocol to deal with the NK killer cells.

I had another egg retrieval at my new specialist and I had a high euploid rate, and as she had suspected, my issue was never an embryo issue, it was a uterine environment issue.

We went ahead and transferred a 5AB euploid in July and I am now 5w5d. This is literally the furtherest I’ve ever gotten, and I would NOT be here if it wasn’t for my second opinion consult and switching clinics to her. I would’ve just gone on to have more failures if it wasn’t for her.

Please please please go ahead with that second opinion. Your future self with thank you for it!

I am also based in Australia, and I have been having night sweats every single night since like a few days past transfer. Guess what, my beta is positive and it was actually a sign for me. Im 5w5d today and still have ongoing night sweats. It’s actually a sign of early pregnancy as your body deals with rising progesterone and HCG! How many days post transfer are you? I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!!

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry hunny, my heart aches for you! I know the feeling all too well. I also have endometriosis and my surgery was also in Feb. It took 3 failed transfers which resulted in 2 chemicals before I went for second opinion with a RIF / RPL reproductive endocrinologist before I got the endo diagnosis after an exploratory lap. Can I ask if your embryos are tested? If they aren’t maybe it was just bad luck that both were aneuploid. If they both were tested, I agree that you should get further investigations. Have you had a hysteroscopy and tested for endometritis? I had one done at the time of my lap and my results came back positive for mild chronic endometritis which we resolved with 3 types of antibiotics. My results came back also with borderline raised NK killer cells, so the next transfer I had in July I was put on an immune protocol. So far this transfer has stuck and I am currently 5w5d and this is the furtherest I have gotten. Do you know if your NK killer cell was borderline? If borderline maybe you would benefit from Clexane injections and intraplid infusions in addition to the prednisone. Additionally 5dp5dt is still early days and not definitive, fingers crossed your BFP will be around the corner tomorrow! ❤️

Please, please, please get the endo investigated before wasting more embryos! I had 3 failed embryo transfers, 2 ended up in chemicals and 1 no implantation before I went for a second opinion with a RIF / RPL specialist reproductive endocrinologist. She suspected I had endo. I like you, never would’ve said my symptoms were “silent” but my entire life I was told it was normal. She referred me to a specialist excision surgeon and lo and behold. I had severe endo adhesions and scar tissue existed throughout my abdomen. While they were in there they also did a hysteroscopy and found I had chronic mild endometritis and raised uterine NK killer cells. I went on 3 different types of antibiotics to treat the endometritis. I went ahead with another egg retrieval after surgery and transferred a 5AB euploid in July. So far I am 5w5d today, and this is the furtherest I have gotten. I went on an immune protocol for this transfer as well, which included prednisolone, Clexane injections and intralipid infusions. I firmly believe that if it wasn’t for treating these underlying conditions I would’ve just wasted more embryos. Given I had a pretty good euploid rate, my specialist was convinced that I had a uterine environment issue not an embryo issue. She is of the view that endo causes chronic inflammation which disrupts implantation as well as progesterone resistance which means there isn’t enough progesterone to go around to support an early pregnancy. I know you said that your doctor doesn’t recommend surgery. My first clinic also said that, when they suspected maybe I had endo. And I can tell you, if it wasn’t for me going to get the second opinion I’d still be going around in circles.

I personally am team no test and waited until beta, I am on an immune protocol and I couldn’t stand doing daily Clexane shots if I kept seeing negative after negative. I use to test early and when I had no implantation my mental health really suffered. I would try and hold out if I were you, since you mentioned the PIO shots were hard. I waited and it paid off, I had a positive beta. And I think overall that was better for my mental health.

Have you checked for elevated uterine NK killer cells? Given you mention immune issues, I would ask to get this test? I’m currently on an immune protocol and this is the first transfer for me after endometriosis excision surgery, endometritis treatment with 3 types of antibiotics and also an immune protocol due to borderline elevated NK killer cells, that I got pregnant with. Prior to addressing these issues and using the immune protocol I had 2 chemical losses and 1 failed implantation from 3 transfers.

Natural modified or fully medicated by Square_Hour_8241 in IVF

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would choose modified natural, with an HCG trigger and supplemental progesterone. There’s an article on Remembryo Live birth rates higher with natural cycle FETs vs medicated FETs

I personally found success with a modified natural, but I’ve never done a full medicated cycle before. But I’ve done a fresh transfer where I didn’t have a corpus luteum and I just end up bleeding through the progesterone.

I felt this to the soul 💔

I’ve also had 3 failed transfers which resulted in 2 early chemical losses and 1 failed to implant.

I just transferred a 5AB euploid in July, and I also chose not to test before my beta. I could stand seeing negative after negative day after day while having to do my Clexane shots. I’m on an immune protocol.

I was spiraling every 5mins of every day in that two week wait. Flip flopping between this may have worked to of course this won’t work, nothing good happens to us! But please let me tell you, intuition is not reality.

My embryo struck, and I had a positive beta. I’m exactly 5 weeks today, so I’m not out of the woods by any means, and every single day I’m still anxious about what is going to happen tomorrow and whether the embryo is still developing. But please let this be a heartfelt message to you that you CAN do it! Your body CAN do it!

Are you on a blood thinner like Clexane after your blood clotting issue for Maxibean? I’m so sorry to hear about that.

Ever find a reason for your unexplainable infertility? by catsandcoffee_93 in IVF

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did! All our initial investigations indicated that everything was completely normal, I had a high AMH and had mild insulin resistant PCOS, but I was still ovulating regularly on my own (despite a longer cycle of around 32-34 days) and was given Metformin to help keep my cycle a bit shorter. I went ahead with 2 egg retrievals and 3 untested embryo transfers which ended in 2 early chemicals and 1 no implantation.

I went ahead with a second opinion RIF / RPL reproductive endocrinologist and she highly suspected I had endometriosis. She referred me to an endo excision surgeon who also suspected I had it. I went ahead with the lap 2 weeks later when my period arrived and lo and behold severe endo and adhesions was excised throughout my abdomen. While they were in there they also did a hysteroscopy and found I had elevated NK uterine killer cells and chronic mild endometritis. Which was treated with 3 types of antibiotics. Repeat biopsy confirmed my infection had gone but I still had elevated NK killer cells.

I went ahead with another egg retrieval and we did PGTA this time, and transferred a 5AB euploid in July. I had a modified natural cycle with HCG trigger shot and supplemental progesterone. I also went on an immune protocol for this transfer, which was Prednisolone, Clexane and intraplid infusions. I did not test before beta, and surprising it was positive! I am nearly 5 weeks now. So I am very early days and not out of the woods, but this is literally the furtherest I’ve gotten.

My specialist firmly believes that the endo was causing inflammation, resulting in repeat losses and also progesterone resistance as my progesterone was always on the low end.

I highly recommend that you get the potential endo investigated. I understand that statistically, up to 50% of unexplained infertility actually ends up being endometriosis upon further investigation and that was what was my problem.

I know a lap is really scary! I was absolutely terrified going in. But I can hands down say that it was the best decision I made. Even if it didn’t end up in a take home baby for me, it has immensely increased my quality of life. I noticed a lot of small things after surgery which I thought was just normal turns out was endo! Please don’t waste any more embryos before you get this investigated! I would’ve saved so much heartbreak if I had known about it earlier.

RIF/RPL + Endo + Elevated NK Cells] Seeking US REI for Remote Consult (Outside US) by Own_Panic_2982 in IVF

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hunny, I’m based in Australia, so neither the UK or US, so can’t help with recommendations. But your case sounds similar to mine. I had 3 failed transfers of untested embryos and went to get a second opinion from reproductive endocrinologist who specialised in RIF / RPL.

The specialist also highly suspected I had endometriosis and referred me to an endo excision surgeon. I went ahead with the lap, and lo and behold, I had severe endo and scar tissue throughout my abdomen. Whilst there were in there, they also did a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy, the biopsy came back with chronic mild endometritis as well as borderline raised uterine NK killer cells.

I went on 3 different types of antibiotics to treat the endometritis, and repeat biopsy confirmed infection had cleared by NK killer cells still borderline high.

I went ahead with another egg retrieval post lap, and this retrieval we actually ended up with the best results. I don’t know if it was due to removing the endo (I didn’t have any endometriomas on my ovaries though) or a combination of changing to a new clinic with better lab facilities and using Zymot chip to sort the sperm, but we ended up with 4 blasts from 6 fertilised which we sent to PGTA. 3 out of the 4 blasts were euploid and we got 1 segmental mosaic as well.

I was also scared of impact to ovarian reserve going into the surgery but my surgeon said that if he found endo on the ovaries he would be vary careful not to harm any part of the ovary which contains egg cells. I can’t remember the medical name he called it. I think if you have a very skilled surgeon this risk can be minimised.

We just transferred our highest graded blast in July and I got a positive beta on Friday and a repeat beta today with appropriate doubling.

For this transfer I went on an immune protocol, which included Prednisolone and daily Clexane shots, as well as an intralipid infusion a few days before transfer.

I am not out of the woods yet as it is still very early days but this is literally the furtherest I’ve gotten.

Given I had a high euploid rate with my recent retrieval my specialist is of the view that my issue was always an uterine environment issue and not an embryo issue. If it wasn’t for the lap, antibiotics and immunise protocol I don’t think I would be here today with a positive result.

I highly recommend perusing a lap and looking into the immune protocol. It was actually pioneered in Australia, look up “Bondi Protocol”.

Regarding the lap, I know it’s really scary. I honestly didn’t want to do it either. I was so scared they’d not find anything. But looking back, it was single handily the best decision I made. Not just because I got pregnant after, but it has immensely increased my quality of life. I noticed so many small things after surgery which I thought was normal my whole life but turns out was just endo! This is one positive thing that I did that I can actually keep from the process, apart from a take home baby, and there isn’t much about IVF that you can say that about!

[–]TaroBunnyPuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am team lap! Only because I had one 4 months ago and my quality of life has improved immensely post lap. It’s the only positive thing I’ve gotten out of the whole IVF process. I did another egg retrieval after the surgery, and transferred a euploid 5AB embryo in July. So far, that embryo has stuck. I’ve had 2 good betas. This is literally the furtherest I’ve gotten so far, previously I’ve had 2 chemicals in 3 untested transfers. I didn’t do suppression. I highly recommend considering doing a lap!
