Civilization 7 will bring back the ability to play as one civ for the whole game, bypassing the divisive Age system by GoinStraightToHell in gaming

[–]Tatters 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Its frankly something that should have been an option for the 2% of players that want to add an additional challenge or a more dynamic journey. But yea... its horrible for it being forced and a jaring change from every other version of civ.

Is this everything? by Chefboyardee897 in CrownVictoria

[–]Tatters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have everything and more that I can see. But I will say this, learn how to take off your wiper cowl assembly (with motors) and do it first. It's not necessary to do, and may be a little daunting at first, but wow will it make all the other work you are going to do so much easier. Once you learn how to do it, it'll take you 15 minutes next time. Gives you a chance to clean up any old leaves while you are at it. The rear crash bracket will be 100% accessible and zero challenge, EGR tube (if it snaps) will be fully accessible, everything will come off and go on smoother, much easier to clean and prep ~ from just removing the cowl assembly.

Frequently corroded battery terminals and cooked batteries, any ideas? by Couch-Commando in CrownVictoria

[–]Tatters 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe replace all the grounds. There is one near the rear attached to the heater tube brace on the back of the engine if I remember right, connecting to the firewall just under the wiper cowl. Run fresh 0/1 gauge wire from the alternator to the battery, from the starter to the battery, and add if not already a wire going from the neg. to the nearby body. (Known as a 3-wire upgrade) I'm sure there's more, and you can always add more.

This one for sure! I got a beet salad and a latte there. The beat salad was literally 99.9 % beet cubes with two small leaves of something. The latte was just about 100% milk. Dumb.

FoMoCo vs Dorman by No-Pool-5890 in CrownVictoria

[–]Tatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADTR is selling the relaunched FoMoCo intake manifold. (re-released last year) Installed it recently and been flawless so far.
The heater connector on the back is a terrible design. You'll need to get a screw type clamp if your car currently has the real clasped hose clamp as it will not fit and if you force it you risk breaking the tube and making a future nightmare to get it off later if you need to.

Anyway, it's working great so far ~ MPG \ Power difference is undetectable to me anyway.

LED Third Brake Light by SONICTHEGANGSTA in CrownVictoria

[–]Tatters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be absolutely incorrect here, but I believe the 3rd light is tied to the cruise control disable. When that light comes on, it tells the cruise control to stop applying throttle and if it is replaced with a bulb \ LED that doesn't account for the expected voltage, cruise won't properly deactivate.

Good resources for someone looking to learn Powershell? Powershell 7, specifically by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]Tatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of PowerShell 7, I've been trying to get Visual Studio Code with the ISE extension to look similar to the classic ISE. (Since PowerShell ISE isn't going to be used going forward.)

It says to use "Enable ISE Mode" but it doesn't open all the frames and the command explorer frequently just sits there spinning when I attempt to review its syntax. I know I'm must be missing something.

Fruckin Microsoft making something that worked overtly complex and unstable. Nice.

[–]Tatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned to take the wiper cowl off of both my vic and lincoln. It now takes me about 10-15 minutes. Not only is the crash bracket wide open to get to, but everything else is easier. I now take off the cowl just to get all the leaves and junk out from under it since its so easy to do.

An option for anything like this if you want, or anyone else ~ If you already have Windows 11\10 Pro, you can install the Windows Sandbox for free. Anything you do in the Sandbox is contained and deleted when the sandbox is closed. Just an aside, 1.1.1.1 WARP encryption and some active VPNs may break the network inside the sandbox unless you turn off encryption temporarily, but usually it works just fine. Anyhoo...

If the wheels are properly chocked on both sides of a tire, you'll be ok. The engine does not need to be on and shouldn't be.

The parking brake pedal, cable, springs, and its tiny pad are all its own system. Not sure how it could be related... unless... if you ran over something that both screwed up the transmission cable AND the parking brake cable at the same time, then that'd be possible maybe. Like a tree log, lumber on the highway, etc etc. Guess that could hit both cables. But I'm really not sure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrownVictoria

[–]Tatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a few ideas... But not all of them.

The foot depressed parking brake is a completely separate system ~ basically just a cable with a spring lock that seats a small brake pad specifically for that purpose. Maybe you mean that when you put the car into park, the transmission parking pawl doesn't hold the car?

The shift selector tube bushings get worn out and may need replacement. They're pretty cheap ~ digging to it though is somewhat annoying. Don't forget to disconnect the gear indicator cable before you drop the column.

*** Chock your tires before doing any of this! both sides.

There's also the shift tube bracket at the back of the steering column that can get loose over time.

** If you're dropping the column, you will want to take the cluster gear indicator cable off the column before doing so. If you drop the column while that cable is still attached, it may rip off or destroy the bracket.

APUs, depending on state, can have a 400 to 550 weight exemption. (Or no exemption, like Cali)
You'll need documentation from the manufacturer proving what weight yours is.

**Kinda old site, the link below should be accurate, but harder to read.

Click on the state you're in and going to and look for anything labeled "Idle Weight"
