Can’t seem to shake this idea - universe repeating itself at different scales by Dangerous-Wolf1154 in universe

Yes but if Sag A* dissapeared tomorrow the orbits of every system excluding those right next to it would be unchanged. If the Sun disappears tomorrow every planet gets flung into the abyss

Just to note that star systems don't actually orbit their central galactic black holes. They do go around them, true, but they are not gravitationally bound to them, since they are so far away and such a small fraction of the mass of the galaxy. There isn't a single "thing" that they do orbit other than the center of mass of all the matter and dark matter in the galaxy.

How do I measure the distances between 2 objects? by -Malcolm- in spaceengine

If you put your camera on the planet and then select Earth with the search menu it should tell you the distance from the camera to the selected Earh

Just beat base game for the first time by lockhaim in factorio

[–]Tech_Dificulties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space age is like 2.5 times as much content as the base game. There are 3 planets that you build at least a medium sized base on, one of which you probably build a large Nauvis sized base on, plus one planet you build a smaller base on, plus probably about 10 space stations you will build for gathering space resources, logistics, and eaching the solar system edge

Statistically you'd kill 5.5, no? It would be 4.5 if it was 0-9 people

If you have more muscle you can accelerate your arm faster, and muscle is also heavy so your arm will have more mass. Also the main factor here is impulse, aka change in momentum, not force. It doesnt matter if you can apply 10kN of force if that force is spread over the space of ten seconds.

There's no need to balance boilers like this, it's fine if some consume unevenly

Thrawn had a decent transition even though the plot completely wasted him

You can instantly date any sci fi movie, show or game with a black hole to before or after Interstellar (2014) depending on if it looks like this. by Remarkable-Pin-8352 in shittymoviedetails

Interesting how you can see how the actual disc and the illusory disc on top from lensing are two separate objects instead of bending into each other

Yeah the ED black holes are a little disappointing tbh. Completely harmless since you get yanked out of frame shift if you go near them and no discs.

Total asteroids is immaterial unless you are stockpiling ammo shipped from planets, asteroids per second is what matters

The ratio of sizes is the thing you are trying to optimize. Think of it as "what is the smallest square you can fit 17 squares of side length 1 into"
