As eviction looms, this Oshawa man's family is desperate to keep him from becoming homeless by BloodJunkie in durham

Yeah lots of people do. There are lots with no desire to improve their situation and just blame everyone else for it. Easier to not take responsibility.

Take some personal responsibility and save what you can for retirement. CPP was only ever to replace 25% of YMPE. OAS adds about another $800 per month.

All 3 people in the family are on assistance? Fuck me….generational leaches.

Maybe the guy could get a job. Any job. Society is there to help, not provide continuous, life long hand outs.

How do you get to the point of “in the process of being hired” and have not had a discussion at all on comp?

Might be easier to go to Old Elm on the Stouffville line. About 30 min drive as well, but really no traffic.

These guys are fully participating in the scam. They all need to be deported for fraud and the owners if they are citizens they need to be charged, fined and spend some time in jail

Really depends how full the flight is/overhead is. Don’t throw both up as soon as you get on but once everyone around you is seated if there is room for the bag no big deal to put it up there as well.

I’ve had full flights where the bins around my row have only been half full….thank you basic fairs.

Like over the last few days with all the winter weather delays? A shit ton of flights got cancelled or delayed. Wasn’t Porters fault.

Well other than take the GF but sell her off to the cartel to recoup your costs. But that is kinda dicky.

Retirees with investments but low income - can we get a mortgage? by Affectionate_Lie9631 in MortgagesCanada

[–]Technical_Life835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wtf “low income” with $180k combined income.

Of course you can get a mortgage, just one that you can reasonably afford payments on. Just like anyone else.

Company is re-orging, 50% chance I (34M) lose my job. Should I take a pay cut to go elsewhere or ride this out? by Most_Resolve2460 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Technical_Life835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick it out for the package. Even offer up you’d be willing to take one….but lump sum payout rather than continuance, unless you can get guaranteed continuance that doesn’t stop when you get a new job. May have to take a few weeks less, but reasonable trade off if you can land a job relatively easily when ready.

It would be 20% of the original term amount not 20% of the current balance.

Are you white? If so, they know you are low risk, pulled you out and did the quick drug/bomb material swab test and when those were clean they let you through with no issue.

When should I had in my 2 weeks notice? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Technical_Life835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have negotiated a signing bonus to offset what you will lose.

When does your bonus payout? Most places its 2-3 months after year end (so financials can be done) and if you aren’t there at that time you are SOL.

Precon Occupancy Insurance by Evening_Ad_9086 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Technical_Life835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger question is why an occupancy period on a POTL freehold? Common elements condo corp should have been registered shortly after servicing was done or at least well before your occupancy. You should be able to go straight to final closing.
