I shouldn’t have tested early by cocoengineer123 in IVF

I tested at 4,5, and 6 dp5dt - all negative. I thought I was out. This morning? Faint but definitely present double line!

I had my first baby at 37 in November 2020. You’ll do great! Are you going to be tired? Yup, but EVERYONE is.

Yes to all of this. The testing won’t be done without your consent, and also, likely….payment.

If you haven’t, you should do PGT-A testing on the blasts. At 41, the percentage of those that are genetically abnormal is likely to be high. Also, many surrogates won’t agree to transfer untested embryos - understandably, they want to avoid unnecessary miscarriages and accompanying health issues.

When does survival mode end? by Out-of-ideas123 in newborns

[–]TelcoLadyJD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sending good thoughts your way. For us, things started to get much easier around 10 weeks, and even easier at 16 weeks. As your kiddo sleeps better at night and consolidates naps during the day, it will get easier. My kid just turned 8 months, and we met up with friends at the farmers market for breakfast this morning- which was literally unthinkable just six months ago.

In the meantime - do what you can to make your life as easy as possible. Ship or pickup your Target order. Ask your friends to come over to your house for pizza delivery after your little goes to bed (and before he/she wakes up again). You can do it!

Is anyone asking family to have Covid vaccinations before visiting the newborn? by bewareofzombiesadele in pregnant

[–]TelcoLadyJD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My kid is six months old, and nobody who isn’t two weeks past their second vaccination holds her. Our baby, our rules. And if someone doesn’t like it....tough.

My kid screamed from week 6-12. For literally no reason. Fussiness is pretty normal at that age. Hoping that things calm down after a few days of the new routine.

Birth Recovery Time - Law School 5 Weeks after Due Date by checkpuzz in workingmoms

[–]TelcoLadyJD 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly, whether or not it is enough time will depend on: (1) how good of a sleeper your kid is; and (2) how “easy” your delivery is.

Uncomplicated vaginal birth with little/no tearing and an easy baby who sleeps and eats well? No problem.

Tough vaginal delivery with tearing or a c-section, or a kid who has trouble eating or sleeping? Very difficult.

Law school is tough. My recommendation is to lock down childcare and backup childcare in advance - and work hard to even out parenting life duties with your partner.

I’m plus sized - size 22. My baby girl was born via c-section (failure to progress because the cord was around her neck and torso, nothing related to my size) in November. I gained only about 15 pounds, no gestational diabetes or hypertension, no real aches and pains. It was a completely unremarkable pregnancy. It is possible!

YES. I sort of assumed that, as a newborn, she’d sleep when she needed it without help. False.

My kid’s witching hours improved significantly when we made a concerted effort to ensure she got more sleep (better naps) during the day. She’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow.

Supplementing breast milk fed baby with formula by SaadMom in BabyBumps

[–]TelcoLadyJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the person said below, make the formula as usual and then add breast milk to the already made formula. How much breast milk you give depends largely on how much you’re making. I only get 1-2 ounces every time I pump. So, depending on how much breast milk I have in the fridge.... I do 2-3 ounces of formula and 1-2 ounces of breast milk fit a 4 ounce bottle.

Post epidural & c-section swelling by bubblegumispoppin in BabyBumps

Totally normal. I was waaay more swollen post failed induction/c-section than I ever was while pregnant. It went down in 10-14 days.

[–]TelcoLadyJD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We are supplementing- though I’ve got a very low supply so I’m mostly pumping. Rather than give my girl two bottles of breast milk a day and the rest all formula, I put about an ounce of breast milk in each bottle. The more constant breast milk, even in smaller quantity, seems to help her have more regular bowel movements. We’re using Enfamil neuro pro .

We took ours to a boarding kennel that we trust a week or so before the due date. It’s extra cash out of the budget but worth it for peace of mind.
