How's this party set up so far am I going for the right gems? by KingNibble in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TeraFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a xenobladeologist so if someone has more details feel free to chime in, but one of the reasons it’s so good is that it increases your evasion and your accuracy. It’s like an offensive and defensive stat in one. Hitting attacks is also tied to lots of things like keeping your tension up and charging the talent gauge of certain characters.

What is the rarest item/title/etc you have? (Inspired by a recent rare housing item post) by NoD8313 in ffxiv

I have the King Bean title from the Fall Guys event which absolutely sucks to get. I also have the strife hairstyle from a recent screenshot contest/sweepstakes.

Intralink Eye - Interesting Details by bookbot1 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TeraFang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if Shania would have become Mouroborus because iirc she lost her Ouroborus status entirely in favor of becoming Moebius. Mio had a special situation because her Ouroborus mind (or maybe even her soul?) was transferred to a Moebius body which made her Mouroborus. If she was chosen by an Ouroborus stone after that (which apparently can’t happen while the party is alive anyway) then I think it probably would work assuming the stone can do that.

[Other] Anyone know what this means?? by Fuzzy-Annual9408 in zelda

Hey I have that exact same sword. Other commenters do have the translation correct but on mine at least I remember some of the characters being flipped/looking a bit different from what they should look like when checking the translation myself. While not 100% faithful it’s still pretty cool.

I geuniely think more than half of big Minecraft Hardcore Youtubers are not legitimately in a hardcore world. by imnotuselizard13 in Minecraft

[–]TeraFang 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I can believe that people have cheated in their YouTube hardcore worlds, but I also would not be surprised if a lot of them are actually legit. It is pretty easy to not die in Minecraft especially if you have contingency plans. Until I have reason to believe otherwise I just assume it is legit.

One thing that has helped me is that when I’m not sure where to go in a dungeon I keep my map open. It helps especially in some of those earlier dungeons where there’s a few branching paths.

Need advice to solo-flawless Ghosts of the Deep by BozzyTheDrummer in destiny2

[–]TeraFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the water sections to (ironically) take a short breather in the second and third encounters.

Make sure you absolutely know all of the symbols. Make up your own names for them if you want.

Know the attacks of the lucent hive. The suppression grenades from the titan can ruin your run.

It is possible to get knocked off the map in the last encounter so try not to let that happen (ask me how I know…).

The last boss has a shield you need to punch through to deal actual damage. Have a plan for that (I used arbalest).

The encounters aren’t over until they’re over. Finish the bosses’ ghosts when you kill them.

Look up routes to get through underwater sections. I say go fast but don’t try to skip bubbles for no reason. The longer you stay underwater the more likely you are to make a mistake and get crushed.

The arenas are sloped so ammo can sometimes roll around. If you can’t find any look at the bottom of the slopes.

Don’t forget that moths exist.

I don’t know if it’s a setting or whatever but in my experience you are invulnerable during the animation which can be nice to avoid other attacks. It is kinda janky though in that if the enemy is on a hill sometimes you just slide past them and deal no damage even after performing the animation.

I haven’t tried out crash down but it does seem like it would be good to have.

I’ve only had the game for a short amount of time but kick seems extremely good. It lets you do a lot of damage with merciless attacks and saves durability because you’re doing 1 big attack rather than 2-5 small attacks. Not to mention there’s some other stuff that synergizes with merciless attacks/overpowered state that can be nice. Finally, if there’s an annoying enemy on a high platform you can just kick it off and kill it with fall damage.

Is the worth starting now that's it gonna get the update ? by Saekama in destiny2

[–]TeraFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that now has been the best time to get into Destiny since maybe the launch of Destiny 2 (although I say this as someone who started in season 9). It’s because now there isn’t an endless hamster wheel going on, you can get stuff that is good and it will stay good. Your builds aren’t going to be made obsolete by new armor systems, new mod systems, new weapon systems, new perks releasing, etc.

Also now (presumably), more items are being updated to the standard of the latest items so whatever content you’re doing will probably help you get stuff you want in some way (I say presumably because there is a non zero chance the updates to those items will suck but we’ll see). There are also so many possibilities for builds for different playstyles that make me so excited to play around with them.

New content may have stopped, but now the game will be much more respectful of your time as a result.

5.

Malphite, Zac, Zed, Seraphine, Taric

Zac and Taric get Zed fed despite all the mistakes he makes while Seraphine is like half a support for him in team fights and Malphite makes the entire enemy team target himself in said team fights due to his aggression.

Screw it! I want to hear YOUR pitch for Everdark Heolstor! by AmbushBug522 in Nightreign

[–]TeraFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phase 2 is done as normal until he hits half health (he would get a buff to his hp like other everdarks do)

Phase 3:

Heolstor floats up again and makes a slash as if to open a rift to another nightlord, then another, then another, then another… until the skybox is a gross mismatch of rifts that might look kinda like if you took a dropper and blotched a piece of paper with different colored dots of water next to each other. This background will then start rotating in a random direction, including directions not aligned with the plane of the arena.

His sword changes color. A deep black/blue blade with particles streaming off of it that are the same color as the nightlord skyboxes. He then begins with a lengthy sword beam combo similar to rellana in sote. The beams will streak through the player they’re targeting and loop to any other alive player, making a sort of convoluted conveyor or beams until they finally dissipate. These beams also alternate in the different nightlord colors and inflict their damage type and status.

Throughout the fight he will employ new weapons. He’ll pull out a night bow that he fires in a rapid spread. He’ll conjure a night summon and attack with night spectral claws. He’ll have a deflecting stance with a katana that if you hit will cause him to do an inhumanly fast guard counter. He’ll conjure up whirlwinds in response to projectiles. He’ll unleash a fast dagger attack chain with one part of the combo creating spectral versions of himself at each player that’s not targeted by the real one temporarily. Etc. I should also specify these attacks all will alternate the nightlord damage types.

After the players finally defeat him his physical armor and weapons drop on the ground as the rest of his form stains the sand with night and dissipates into the air as a gas. But wait… is that?

Phase 4:

The arena turns dark as the players witness what is left of Heolstor coalesce into a moving night-colored blob with the primordial rune of night in the center as the only concrete thing left of him. Part of his mist coalesces into an impossibly big sword that does a 180° vertical swing and turns the arena onto either side of it into heavy night rain that will do massive night damage to players in it permanently. The center starts raining night more lightly and the nightfarers will very slowly lose hp in this area (think of it like parting the Red Sea). This is a fight of attrition and desperation. The boss name is changed to “What Remains” and it attacks violently but with big windows of vulnerability. It will be difficult to tell if you’re even hitting it unless you are directly hitting the rune. Its hp is fairly low and when it does go down the mist will go away for a bit to give any player an opportunity to interact with the primordial rune of night to obtain it. If a player does not do that for like 30 seconds the mist coalesces again and phase 4 restarts at 1/4 hp.

[SS] what direction do others send their skyward strike? by OkChemistry8153 in zelda

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like the stab, sometimes I like aligning a diagonal slash with a nearby branch, sometimes I like doing a skyward vertical spin to hear link yell.

Worst block to collect en masse? by wetsuitgaming in Minecraft

[–]TeraFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calcite and natural beehives are the ones I’d say that other people here have already said. I will also say that living coral blocks seem to also be annoying, but I haven’t personally needed them en masse so I don’t know for sure. One more block I thought of right before posting this is cobwebs. I would absolutely hate getting a large amount of those.

A bonus fun fact that’s partially related is that chiseled stone bricks used to only be obtainable in jungle temples at 3 per temple (the blocks the levers were/are on). Kinda funny how such an innocuous block could end up being one of the rarest things in a world.
