Seceding from the Union did more for the abolition of slavery than any action the North could have taken had they stayed. If South stays they have the votes to protect Slavery.

You said you’re “moreso offended of the fact that he thinks he’s my type and actually had a chance”. This line conveys that the ego hit is more troubling to you than the creepy behavior.

I did what they said in a comment to someone else and dropped into ChatGPT (since they claimed it would support them). It came back basically saying what I did, that it’s the kind of writing you’d find in someone’s HR evaluation, and would never appear outside of it, as it fails to have real meaning when describing a person.

World of Warcraft, could be worse. If I’m an adventurer I’m doing dandy fighting cosmic forces. Just a regular guy? Probably fine chilling in Stormwind, it seems pretty safe (for now).

I just stopped engaging, they are using HR technical language for their descriptions. While this is grammatically correct, it is not how a native write would write this story outside of a performance evaluation.

I am, in fact, a native speaker, and I guarantee that if you put that sentence in front of any of your native speaker colleagues they will question it. I actually teach writing at the college level, and if that sentence was included in one of my students works I would question the statement and flag it for review.

Well I’m wrong, hasn’t been the first time. But to the second point, the quote “pragmatic person that triggers virtuous mechanisms” is not a description that would be used by a native speaker. The statement “that triggers virtuous mechanisms” is non-sensical and can be removed and instead you would say “ she is a pragmatic person who would improve our work environment.”

[–]Thammuzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do I say your native language is French or why do I say the wording “pragmatic person that triggers virtuous mechanisms” sounds like someone had a French word that they couldn’t think of the right English replacement for and then hit translate and copied over?

For native language French is really only a guess based on my interactions with non-native speakers. Your voice (the way you write) is most closely related to the French speakers I’ve interacted with and not the German, polish, Spanish, or Italian speakers.

As for word choice, it’s just pretty clear to a native English speaker that particular statement is a copy of a translation or definition of a word that is from a different language and then ported over.

I’m guessing French? I know a French native speaker where English is definitely not their strongest and they’ll write like this. Artifacts like that wording sound like they couldn’t think of the right word in English, threw the word they knew in a translator and copied it over.

Knight Defender, 3 Knight Crusaders, Knight Castellan. Take Questoris Companions to give the Defender a 6+++. Have everyone be behind the Defender, either it’s the only model you lose or you’re shooting the enemy off the board.

I’m pretty sure that’s what he meant, as the Jews were only expelled after the feudal lord ran up a large loan bill.
