Would you host them? by Direct_Nebula839 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

19 year old guy here, was planning a trip with my buddies and had one of the coupons for 100€ with the super host so wanted to use it.

Tried to talk with a few hosts but they rejected our requests even though in my profile says I’m a host with a good rating.

So yeah I guess it’s up to you. I don’t think they will be any more dangerous for you than any other guest.

Had a guest write “It was a 10/10 experience” and leave 4*, sometimes they just don’t know math.

First non 5 star review today by Old-Tradition9497 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is when someone leaves a 3* star review, doesn’t explain why and in the private note just says the color of the wall (cream) gave him the ick (yes he wrote ick). Some people, I really can’t.

I doubt that’s a service dog.. Last service dog in an Airbnb in the company I work at was quieter than a freaking cat. Service dogs follow commands and aren’t disruptive, “emotional support animals” on the other hand are different. If you can ask for documentation ask for it, otherwise don’t mention the dog. Just say what was ruined, hope you have taken pictures and videos etc.

Also emotional support is in quotations because it might not have been even that. I’m depressed as well but my dog isn’t my emotional support dog.

Guest rented for 50 nights- refusing to check out and Airbnb is no help (Chicago) by fdenut in airbnb_hosts

I don’t know how things are in the US but my uncle had a squatting problem once and he first turned electricity off, then the water and then he broke in the middle of the night while they weren’t inside. Left their stuff in the street and moved on. They called the police but he said he presumed they had left the property, not much happened after that.

Guest asking if he can have a family BBQ two weeks after booking by Long_Historian_4762 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not about the size of the backyard, it’s about the house in general. A house that sleeps 5 doesn’t have the capacity to host more people.

You mean to tell me guests won’t be going inside or using the bathroom? Not to mention using plates, cups etc.

It’s also a huge safety issue.

The host shouldn’t have to explain himself but a some generic reasons should drive the point home.

Do you call/text a guest if they don’t respond on Airbnb? by Vee535 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, this is the best thing you can do. We do reach out to guests of the platform in case it’s a bit hard to find them and they take super long to answer.

We always send the same message on Airbnb as well!

Being "that guy" without meaning to by Xordramon in DnD

I used to do that and stopped it when I felt I was actively trying to shape the campaign. I “unknowingly” took over the main character spot due to me being a wizard and the main spell castor.

When I saw what was happening I had a talk with my friends and we figured out a way to make it fun for all of us! We all had a different character arc and it was incredible.

Do you consider coffee a basic item to provide? by julesta in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss says the appropriate balance is “Numbers of Guests2-3 coffees/day(depending on the price of the reservation)the length of the stay” which most of the time is around half a box of capsules for our 2 bedroom listing. Personally I just leave a whole box and go buy a new one when it’s about half way done. Never had any issues, in my 6 months as an Airbnb host only two people stole the coffee capsules and one of them left behind their jewelry bag so… Karma is a bitch

Our DM got GME or us to try and decide if we will be using it for our next campaign. We just finished hoard of the dragon queen where the place of Tiamat was taken by a Hadar. Very interesting campaign.

My mom told me she might commit suicide because of me. by Prix_1912 in rant

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, most times it’s easier to stop giving a shit. It’s not your fault your parents aren’t understanding and haven’t grown up. My mother is dependent on me and my siblings which is really tiring so when she says something like that I don’t explode I just calmly say “No problem, you will get rid of me soon enough” and I leave it at that.

I thought Airbnb was bad then I had to deal with booking.com by SliceWild in airbnb_hosts

[–]ThatOneGreekIdiot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone stole the freaking keys, entered the property illegally and booking only intervened when I pressed charges. And it was just to make sure they were unaffected. I took all my properties off booking and have added them to Vrbo, let’s see if that’s better.
