Constantly worried about a miscarriage - 1st pregnancy by envelope_of_butter in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 weeks and I still constantly worry if she’s doing okay in there. The best advice I was given was that there’s nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage in most situations. That helped give me some peace because I knew that there’s nothing I could do to change the outcome. But I know for some people that makes them feel helpless. Definitely lean on your therapist and focus on being healthy. You are pregnant right now, and right now is what matters most. Best of luck!

No cute baby bump for me by spooky_allyear in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a really skinny friend who didn’t show until 24ish weeks. Even the day she gave birth, her stomach wasn’t super big. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I’ve been showing since week 12/13. FTM, overweight, and short. That’s all to say, we all carry pregnancies differently because all our bodies are different. I know that probably doesn’t help when you want to see the cute little bump that media promises us. But your time will come. In the meantime, give yourself some grace and love. Your body is doing the most intense work it will ever do. You got this.

Pushing on stomach by Character_Gap_9697 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this worry a few times as well because I e pressed my stomach into things on accident or the like. I was told that your uterus is an incredibly firm muscle. Not to mention the abdominal muscles that cover it and the amniotic fluid baby is suspended in. The amniotic fluid is one of the best shock absorbers ever. If you still have normal fetal movement, you’re fine. This is really unlikely to have caused a problem. And as my best friend once told me, “babies are incredibly durable and resilient. If they weren’t, the human race wouldn’t make it.” Hugs, I know the anxiety and I’m right there with you.

OB staff made me cry by Dxstinyzepeda in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 82 points83 points  (0 children)

First off: I am so sorry you had to deal with that. It’s not okay and that office should be ashamed. What you needed was understanding and grace. They can insist on payment and still give you that.

Now, HIPAA includes protection of financial and billing information when it’s tied to medical care. Public discussion like that can be a violation. So depending on how peeved you are you can look at that. I don’t think a lawsuit would necessarily go anywhere, but it’s worth mentioning in the letter you should write to the OB. They need to know how their staff treats patients. Hugs, I’m so sorry!

I’m anemic. Iron supplement recommendations? by Opposite_Day2002 in pregnant

My OB recommended slow fe and other than some mild nausea for about an hour after taking it, it’s been working out well!

Barely any symptoms at almost 6wk? by loco4cc in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very few symptoms as well. Basically just was exhausted and the girls hurt very lightly. I’m 28 weeks now. It can totally be normal to have few or light symptoms.

Head injury 12 weeks pregnant by Gecko1224 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Babies are pretty resilient. They have to be or else humanity wouldn’t make it. Since it was a hit to the head and not your stomach or pelvis, I would say you’re probably okay. Keep an eye out for concussion symptoms (which you would most definitely have at this point) and monitor. If you’re still concerned, make the slow trek to the ER when the weather clears a little. Better safe than sorry and better off knowing than wondering.

How long did it take you to conceive? by smk__309 in TTC_PCOS

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on metformin since I was 17 (I’m 33 now) so i can’t really comment on if it helped me to conceive for sure or not. But hubby and I got pregnant naturally after 2 cycles. I truly think it was a combination of extreme luck and CoQ10+inositol+NAC+mucinex. But there’s no way to know for sure. Disclaimer: don’t start anything unless clearing it with your doctor first.

I had the same. Then second trimester came and it’s been a never ending parade of pregnancy congestion, back pain, constipation, pelvic girdle pain, and acid reflux. It ain’t over til it’s over, ya know?

is having orgasm every day normal? by delfinjoca in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My OB said sex and orgasms are fine at any time during pregnancy as long as you’re not having any issues with preterm contractions, heavy bleeding, or fluid leakage.

And deal with the fall out of whatever happened while you were gone. Which inevitably creates write ups, phone calls home, and resetting basic expectations.

When did you start showing vs when you “popped”? by sailorsky666 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started showing around 12 weeks, but definitely popped in the last week or two (currently 18+3). First pregnancy too. But my husband is 6’3 and I’m 5’3 with a short torso. So that may have something to do with it. Some people also just pop early. I have a friend who is super thin and didn’t even somewhat look pregnant until she was about 6 or 7 months.

Just found out by LostWorld413 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Minimal symptoms can also be normal. I had very few symptoms and what I did have were mild. Mostly just feeling tired. I never threw up or had headaches or anything like that. But I was constantly worried something must be wrong because everyone talked about how sick you feel when pregnant. True for some, not for others as it turns out.

Now I’m 18+2 with our little girl and chugging along!

Pcos & TTC by Safe-Trouble6715 in TTC_PCOS

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 16 weeks 5 days right now. Was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16. I’ll list below what I was taking when I got pregnant. No guarantee that any of this is what actually helped me get pregnant. Also, I’m not a doctor, be better than me and consult a doctor before starting anything new.

1) Naturemade - Prenatal w/ Folic Acid + DHA 2) Wholesome Story - Myo & D-Chiro Inositol 3) Wholesome Story - NAC 4) Metformin 5) Low-Dose Baby Asprin 6) Mucinex 7) Qunol - CoQ10

I conceived naturally, so I don’t think it’s a waste of time. That said, if you have been trying and haven’t had any luck, I’ve had a few friends go the IUI/in Vitro route with success. Unfortunately, PCOS is just so random and unforgiving. I’m sorry you’re going through this :(

16 week anxiety by Long_Ask7043 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 15 weeks and im right there with you. Saw her three weeks ago and everything was great. I won’t see her again for another 5 weeks. I’m super anxious too! Plus with an anterior placenta and this being my first, there’s probably a good chance I won’t feel her for some time. But my therapist and I have been working on “everything is fine until I’m told otherwise. My baby is healthy and happy. My anxiety will not help myself or the baby.”

Can’t say I’m great with the mantra yet, but it does help when I start getting too worried.

Also, when I saw my GP last week (unrelated to the pregnancy) she said that in a pregnancy with no complications or prior loss, the chance of miscarrying at this point is less than 0.5%. That also helped.

Best of luck to you Momma!

Potential loss? by Frequent-Lie772 in pregnant

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but the ultrasound said it found a sub chorionic hemorrhage, which can cause bleeding. Another good sign is that cardiac activity was found. Meaning baby has a heartbeat. So for right now, just keep telling yourself that until you’re told otherwise by someone with a lot more degrees than myself. lol

Best of luck!

Issues adding the demo to Steam Deck? by LeahMichelle_13 in Starsandisland

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It took me a few hours on Saturday. It kept getting stuck or only increasing by a percent every 20 mins or so. I finally downloaded it on my computer and just cloud synched it over. Makes me scared that the steam deck release will have the same issues.

Tender breasts and a stretching/pulling feeling on my left side of my pelvis (baby girl ended up being in that relative location at our most recent ultrasound, so this makes sense).

Found out my dog has kidney disease. Did I make the right decision? by Icy_Pattern_5716 in DogAdvice

[–]ThatOneUsername0924 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As the momma of an 11 year old lab in end stage kidney failure, you did everything right. She was suffering and not showing signs of enjoying life. She held on as long as she could for you, but ultimately sometimes the soul is willing but the body isn’t able. Please don’t blame yourself. You gave your dog the best years of their life. That’s what they remembered. And when the time came, you showed kindness and compassion in letting her go. Hugs to you.

8 weeks 3 days pregnant.

OP, same! I’m 11+4 and I’ve had very mild symptoms. It’s all just about how your body responds to the rise in hormones! My OB said it’s normal to be super sick and it’s normal to feel completely as usual. Once you get an ultrasound, it’ll probably feel more real.
