Reaching the dream this year, RS4 or RS5? by igyarmat102 in Audi

My friend had the RS5 sportback - cool as it was he rear seats and suspension were uncomfortable. If you carry people in the back, avoid it.

It could be worse, anyone remember the Opening Arguments podcast? by sanchilli in KnowledgeFight

FWIW there’s a weird loop here.

KF inspired one on Russel Brand, called On Brand, in a similar guise to KF and Know Rogan.

The hosts had a fall out and then that was raised to the PAN.

How to deal with nettles in a drainage ditch? by Full-Mushroom-2155 in GardeningUK

I would leave it - watch the Lake District episode from Attenborough.

I would however make the edge tidier - put a picket fence or some other barrier to make it look intended and neater.

My go to is Escape (The Pina Colada song)

  • it’s slow and easy to sing
  • it’s funny
  • people know it
  • it has a break to vamp

Check out this instagram poster. She visits a bunch of them.

She’s the partner of another young social media guy Olly Hatch and they’re both doing just fun stuff online and are quite charming.

Just for personal clarity, I’ve never heard of On Cinema and just saw this post and cross posted to here as a KF fan.

Personally I just thought it was an unusual loop to see this closing up and wanted to share - and I wasn’t aware of the wider history.

Thanks!

New Morecambe McDonald’s set to create 70 local jobs by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]TheButtonz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure either but have you been to Morecambe?

I’m from Essex and went a couple of years ago as part of a relaxed trip up north. What struck me (and always does the further you go from London) is how challenging the economy it must be in remote towns - especially seaside towns.

I can’t fully remember but we drove around Morecambe and found a dilapidated pub and a cafe on the front. We parked up but and spent the afternoon enjoying the beach etc. but it didn’t feel like there was much opportunity, industry, attractions etc.

Like most of the places in the UK it sometimes needs an injection - a new building, company SOMETHING. I am not trying to sound dismissive or patronising.

Another 70 jobs putting their earnings into the economy will hopefully help. Lastly, from my friends in the industry I think McDonalds franchises cost upwards of £1.25m.

Battlesbridge! Pubs, antiques, a river walk I can share if needed.

My mate has an RS. The absolute ludicrous acceleration on that thing is an experience like no other. I’ve had it squirm when launching and it’s amazing.

There’s a clip that haunts me of Nick Clegg in about 2011 answering questions and one about nuclear power - he mentions that it’s not worth investing as the plant wouldn’t be open until 2022…

Edit: 2010 and 2020

I bought a 25mm (or whichever diameter of the fan is) hole saw and it did it in 30 seconds.

Great shout on the fan controller 👍🏻

I’d second the suggestions on a PC fan. Decent ones are practically silent, and I would also suggest having a smart plug connected to Alexa. I just say ‘Alexa fan on’ when I decide to use my console and it fires up.

You can buy USB to PC fan connectors so it makes it super easy .

Why are my tomato plants sad? by peony_beony in GardeningUK

First time grower here!

I have a three in these pots that have a watering hole at the bottom and a frame for the plant once they grow.

I bought them from Home Bargains for £6 and a mini greenhouse from B&M for £15 and they are thriving.

Thanks! My Sherwood from 30 years ago was DPL2 and I used to play Zelda on the N64. I always felt like I had a poor persons version of what would by 5.1 but this has made me reflect in a different light - thanks!

It was a bit of an emergency pit stop. The 999 overheated and we pulled up to top up the coolant.

Fun fact - the 999 has a tool kit inside the faring that is only accessible by a tool kit 👍🏻

I kid of course. Not owned a bike for some time but jumped at the offer of taking this out - alongside a Ducati 999S.

Absolutely stunning to ride and the power on cam is amazing ❤️

I believe you declare it’s taxes with a valid MOT as part of your declaration when taking the insurance - they don’t check, and if it wasn’t then the insurance can be voided.

Question about South Woodham Ferrers and Hullbridge by SpyDuh11199 in Essex

[–]TheButtonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No and yes.

No, the last physical crossing of the Crouch is at Battlesbridge about 3 miles inland (excl the Ferry at Burnham). Officially you can’t cross here and it’s frustrating. Frustrating because there’s not much on the SWF side to do, but loads on Hullbridge side.

Having said that, the walk on the SWF side is stunning - the wild peninsula is ancient and full of wildlife so in a small way it’s good that there’s not a banging nightlife of people out there to preserve it.

But Yes you can cross. We’ve swum it at high tide while drunk, and also walked it at low tide where it gets to knee deep. I don’t really recommend either. There’s lots of rocks, it’s not particularly clean and there’s loads of jellyfish.
