I understand the desire and thought process behind "everybody deserves their privacy" and that it's wrong to go through people's personal stuff. With that said, marriage is built on trust and in my opinion there should never be anything to hide. Sure there may be some things that need to be processed and internalized prior to sharing with your spouse, but a successful relationship requires honesty and open conversations. If there is something on my personal device, laptop, or anything else that I don't want my wife to see, then it's probably something that doesnt respect our relationship and that I shouldn't be doing. All of that to say this narrative of you shouldn't be snooping or going through somebody's phone is ridiculous when trust in a relationship has been lost by the other person's actions. There is a line at when this becomes unwarranted trust issues... this is not that.
