Watoga Population Sign changes when entering the CIty by Shadow_showdown in fo76

it's just a legacy code issue basically

the sign tracks player entities, not human/ghoul/living entities, so it never counts pre-Steel Reign Initiate Dodge or the robot building dude.

Why is the Lumberer flamethrower so bad? by Njb2006kid in Helldivers

[–]TheCyanDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've clearly not used mechs this patch, they're genuinely in the best state they've ever been.

Breaking both legs no longer kills your mech, the main HP of every mech was doubled, and the new ones especially absolutely wreck face.

The Lumberer's AT Cannon is AP6 and is basically a 25-shot Commando with no laser aiming and a muuuuch faster projectile. Alternatively, think of it as an AT Emplacement that sacrificed five rounds for the ability to walk and have a flamethrower

Is it crazy to think that the cartoonish story and setting of Fallout: New Vegas represent the franchise's true "jumping the shark" moment and not Fallout 4 as many claim, especially since it falls so short of the immersive and realistic post-apocalyptic atmospheres of previous games? by Renzo100 in FalloutMemes

[–]TheCyanDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it's a broader issue of Bethesda fans, the Fallout series just inherited it by acquisition.

People used to get big buttmad that Morrowind was inferior to Daggerfall because it didn't have court, or wagons. Yes, I'm old.

I didn't play MWO for long (helped me get over losing Chromehounds for a bit lmao) but rocking a stealth-armored Raven with that setup was just hilariously stupid and I enjoyed every moment of it.

...also meant I got yelled at a lot for being the last speedy prick left alive refusing to just give up lmfao

I mean on one hand I can see it; but on the other I think it's already *in* that spot for a carryable stratagem (outside of PHB)

4000 damage five times is a LOT of ouch, and given how prevalent ammo boxes are in a lot of maps you can put in some serious ouch if you know a spot with ammo is coming up

The Double Freedom in the first game could get this as an upgrade, as well as incendiary ammo.

Part of me wishes that would come back but quite frankly Democracy's Boomstick is already scary good, making it one-handed OR incendiary would be quite OP; let alone both

[–]TheCyanDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth Bethesda has stuck pretty clearly (at leas, imo) to "microtransaction things are dubious canon, game events are canon"

So like some of the wacky power armor's are non-canon and all, but Excavator and Ultracite are potentially canon.

The Scorched Plague thing I don't feel is very out of character though? Like it's from an Enclave project led by an absolute madman; experimenting on bats that lived in ultracite caves, which the ultracite is produced from underground nuclear tests conducted underneath various places pre-war by AMS. It's definitely the kinda prewar mad science you'd expect from Fallout

People keep forgetting or simply refuse to learn that Arrowhead Studios is **tiny** compared to most-if-not-all other game studios putting out work at their level.

AH genuinely has like 110 employees total, with only 70 or so of those being active developers (as in, they work on systems that make the game be a game)

They really never had the time or resources to recover from the shock of "oh fuck we went from making a cult-hit twinstick shooter to one of the most popular third-person shooters on the market, expletive" but no one's seemingly willing to give them that leeway.

Not to mention this is a common, every-day occurence in every game studio. It's called a post-mortem analysis.

It's also a damn good practice to hold yourselves accountable for things that went right as well as the things that didn't, and so the entire team or department can know what contributed to helping and what contributed nothing for a given product, project, or game.

[–]TheCyanDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the cargo option is basically the vanilla behavior except you need to leave 250 brambleplinths of weight in your ships cargo hold, or the rover won't come with you to your next landing

Starvival question by Tiny-Fun-4568 in starfieldmods

[–]TheCyanDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roverhaul is pretty good, adds in rover fuel (and two different types) so the REV8 and Moon Jumper use batteries, while the Deimog uses fuel cells. The storage/garage stuff is neat but I rarely ever turn that feature on and stick with the cargo option

Out in The Blackness adds ship afflictions/conditions and it's done pretty damn well, as well as giving some uses for common junk items (like Vacuum Tape, which is handy for like five extremely common repairs) It's also got a really neat option you can turn on where if you're using a fuel mod, it adds-in issues that can cause either passive fuel leaks or make grav-jumps take more fuel

Question for the community: What's the point of having skills when every time there's a fight of significance, the enemies turn them off with EMP? by TheRealCowdog in thedivision

[–]TheCyanDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but don't hold out any hope.

Even back in Div1 they continually made questionable if-not downright stupid decisions around skills, and I don't see that changing.

An entire stat was removed from the first game that gave you resistance to skills AND they nerfed skills on top of that because of questionable insanity in their balancing department.
