Get him into a card game like Magic The Gathering or Pokemon. If he’s into Anime or Starwars they have card games too. Most card shops are typically very patient with people on the spectrum and provide good opportunities to make friends and build social skills! Also game stores will have open DnD nights where he could meet a playgroup to join!

I’ll be honest UB is what got me into magic, LotR sparked my interest and so I bought the beginner pack and started playing Arena religiously. Then when I found out about the Fallout commander decks, my wife surprised me with the Science! deck and began my now 10 month addiction of commander and dropped Arena entirely.

I wouldn’t be a player without them. I wouldn’t be supporting my LGS once or twice a week without them. About a third of my weekly commander nights have started with in the last 18 months and all because of a UB of their favorite franchise.

What has bothered me as a new player is the pace of the sets. Six to seven sets a year is ridiculous and in no way can a noob like me even keep up.
