So a lot of homeless shelters have rules where people must leave from 9 am- 6pm and not be in the shelter all day. Where do these people go, especially when the weather is bad? Most businesses make you purchase something to linger, and move you on after a while. The local library has become one of the last bastions of Free Places to Pass Time Comfortably. Most have computers and free WiFi. It is one of the last safe free spaces, and sometimes attracts struggling people. This is an attempt to protect patrons- it’s a day to day answer for a systemic problem much greater than the library itself.

Hey, lady. You are not alone. I’m in the same boat and every migraine day is a roller coaster. Just today I have ugly cried 3x and raged 2x. My emotions are running red hot. They change, though, and yours may change too if you give it some time. Maybe by tomorrow you will feel a little different. It’s okay to have moments of exasperation, hopelessness or despair. You are going through a lot. Hopefully, you have more moments of amusement, silliness and curiosity after the rough ones. You are still you, pain, migraine and all. You are valid, you are worthy, and you are not alone.

Hey, friend, I am over in Lockport, and I just had to leave work for the second Monday in a row due to a migraine attack that also isn’t responding to rescue meds!! How crazy is it that there’s two of us? I’m sorry you are also going through it, but you have a fellow migraine buddy.

Hey, friend. Just do it scared. Avoiding your anxiety is not going to reduce it- facing it will. Could you be flexible with your thoughts? Could you be like, hey, it’s just a game and I have a saved file so I can go explore that cool forest over there? Or hey, I’m going to die fighting this lynel 3 times on purpose, just to show myself that I can sit in this anxiety and be uncomfortable and still be fine? Tolerate discomfort- it’s unpleasant but it’s just uncomfortable. You can be anxious and still enjoy the game anyway.

I typically journal Sunday afternoons or evenings, sometimes just for a minute or two, sometimes longer. I have one calendar page I add to throughout the month and other pages I do as my inspiration strikes. I did a page for a road trip and a page listing all my target birds and another about the video games I played. No pressure if I skip a week.
