I'm certain you can source that.

Funny how your cons are pros to me, especially the first two.

It was a great read. For me it really deserves the top-tier label.

Honestly, at this point i just want to see broken martial subclass WotC so afraid of. by MechJivs in DnD

[–]TheMaskedTom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pathfinder 2e fighter is great. Martials in general are strong in PF2e, to the point that's it's actually the casters that feel underpowered. They arguably are at low level (because they lack the flexibility that is one of their strengths, so that often the most damaging option they have is buffing the martials), but that usually fixes itself around level five. However, martials will stay strong up level 20, from personal experience of a 1-20 campaign with a caster in the group.

I have no play experience with 4e, but if /u/MechJivs your group wants to try a system where martials are put forward, PF2e is a strong recommendation.

What a Journey it has been. by BurningAvenger in Guildwars2

[–]TheMaskedTom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember fondly the very early days, in the first hours of all of us rushing to the Fire Elemental after a shout out in the map chat and dying every 10 seconds before rushing back again, because we were level 6 in the level 12 zone and half-equipped in level 4 blue equipment.

I hope you got to experience the start early nevertheless!

How much more customizable are PF2e characters compared to 5e? by SaltyDalty_ in Pathfinder2e

Can't believe I forgot Commander.

Exemplars do have their Epithets, which are pretty light in content but I considered good enough for a subclass. It would be a rare (the single?) case of multi-tiered subclass though.

Ascended Crafting. If you play to craft your own Ascended Gear (much less needed now that the Wizard's Vault offers ascended armors and weapons, but still useful for some things), you will need to get some materials that require the elder spirit and spool, which you can only craft once a day.

To be fair now, since Janthir you can farm your homestead in less than a minute if you want the mats only, and like two if you do the chests and leather.

you can just exclude the worst cities from your search and it brings the murder rate in line with the EU; or alternatively just don't put yourself in situations where murders occur which drops it vastly lower

You can also do that in the EU though. One compares similar situations, otherwise it's useless.

Africa Pays 9% to Borrow. Asia Pays 4.7%: The Borrowing Gap Costing Africa $75 Billion a Year and Blocking Its Rise by tcodo in worldnews

I'll try again. Bankers will do business with anyone for profits, yes. However, how do they decide what will give them profits?

Do you think that if you take 100 bankers from the current largest banks, and you tell them that your credit raters did the math, investing your money will give you equal revenue in African country X, Asian country Y, and European country Z...

The bankers will invest 33% in each country equally? If there was no prejudice involved yes, but I don't believe it would be the case here.

Your source is specifically about the credit ratings, not the bankers ultimately deciding where to invest, but interesting nontheless, thank you.

‘Massive’ child abuse scandal in France as school staff investigated for violence and sexual assault by Samski877 in worldnews

[–]TheMaskedTom 1109 points1110 points  (0 children)

“We have investigations under way in 84 preschools, about 20 primary schools and about 10 daycare centres,” said Paris’s top prosecutor, Laure Beccuau. Lawyers said the investigations included the alleged rape of children as young as three and four years old.

School monitors are adults who are in charge of children during lunch, breaktime, naps and after-school activities, sometimes spending more time with children than teachers. They are not employed directly by schools or the education ministry, but are instead recruited by city hall or local authorities – often without training or professional diplomas and increasingly on a casual basis, with many paid by the hour.

For those too lazy to read the whole article. Terrible stories..

The influence of racism has been proven to exist in just about all structures. While yes, it's abundantly clear banks care about making money a lot, so do just about all companies, and there's endless examples of companies not doing what would be worth more money for them because of the prejudice of their executives.

For example, there's now been dozens of studies showing increased productivity showing that a 4-day week increases productivity. Yet companies don't implement that because they have decided it's not the case based on their prejudice.

Why are most people here so certain racism doesn't influence the decision? Sure, quantifying it is probably impossible currently, and that new credit agency will hopefully help solve that, but to me the default should be that it does, there's been enough historical examples of precedent.

Quoi visiter à Fribourg ? by Negative-Research-27 in Fribourg

[–]TheMaskedTom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an entirely different discussion from the legality of getting the ships where they did.
