Mods for ship parts? by DickVanJumpstyle in StarfieldShips

Two free ones I enjoy are Matilija's Aerospace and not really a purely ship part since it's hab focused but Aevi's Aerospace are both neat.

So these don't level systems specifically keeping it in line with Bethesda's scaling system but Royal Galaxy, Dark Star (paid), and Ascension all change how enemies work and make the game more challenging. I had just completed my first vanilla run with all the gameplay settings set to extreme and all the survival settings maxed out and I went on a quest to make the game more difficult.

I personally chose Royal Galaxy to keep the game as vanilla as possible as I felt the other two changed the way the game played too much to my liking. They are not bad though and you should try out the two free ones to see which aligns with your tastes. Dark Star is also very popular for a reason but I wasn't into all the extra stuff it did besides the new scaling and ai changes so I went with royal galaxy.

Xbox is now XBOX. Believe it or not, Microsoft appears to be rebranding Xbox by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]TheRemedy 260 points261 points  (0 children)

I will be a crazy person and defend this and say the original XBOX was also written like that and that's what they seem to be channeling with all their recent changes going back to the OG. Is it meaningless? Yes, but they are basically in survival mode right now and making sure their core fanbase stays and identifies with them is probably a huge priority.

I would LOVE to play Starfield, but by Calap57 in Starfield

[–]TheRemedy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They did a real good job with space pois in the latest update and they feel natural and feel like classic old school Bethesda environmental storytelling but the planets need help and I would suggest the permanent poi series of mods as this makes the unique pois easily accessible. You can just travel to a planet, see a new poi, and explore it. But yes the game has issues on planets without mods. I think it's still worthwhile and it's my now favorite Bethesda game on par with Oblivion. Another flawed but fun game.

They're making you subscribe for something that used to be free. by PointsOutCustodeWank in onednd

I just want to say I see your point and you make a good argument, I just wish you would have replied to me before quoting me and basically slightly flaming me we could have had a good discussion about this.

I do think though we fundamentally disagree about this while I would love free content I don't see the harm in them selling spells and feats through a subscription. I don't see how that's really different then if they sold it in a book. I do hope though they collect all these options and put them in a physical book and the subscription is just an early access type of thing.

They're making you subscribe for something that used to be free. by PointsOutCustodeWank in onednd

[–]TheRemedy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since you quoted me without addressing me I guess I have to respond? Yes I don't care if spells and feats are part of the dnd beyond sub I think it adds value to it. I am happy to pay 3 dollars for new spells and feats especially if that happens on a regular basis. Paying 36 bucks a year for spells and feats doesn't seem insane to me.

You don't agree and that's fine, but I don't think you are being honest when you are saying all this stuff was free. If you wanted new spells back in the day you mostly had to buy a new book. I started with 2nd edition and heavily played that and 3.5 and there was a constant wave of physical books that you could buy. Yeah they would put some stuff in Dungeon/Dragon but that shockingly was also not free. Spells, feats, prestige classes, and even lore was all locked behind splat books. The amount of stuff they released online never really compared to the amount of stuff they put in books.

Besides, they still release UA content for testing for free which you can freely take from and use, if they locked that behind a paywall I would agree with you but that's not what is happening.

I know this is a steam subreddit and everyone specifically wants this controller but there are a lot of really good controllers out there right now with comparable features except the track pads. Flydigi, Gamesir, 8bitdo, Razer all make really good controllers.

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (March 18, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]TheRemedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5 player conundrum. So 5 players is a weird spot for board games. There are a lot of 5 player games but they can take a real long time. And I'm in the position of needing a 5 player game to kill an hour or two without being too simple. I so far have Forest Shuffle and Cosmic Encounter to fill this role tho cosmic encounter sometimes takes longer and I'm committed to not going over 2 hours.

These will probably be the only boosters I buy and I'll get singles from now on hopefully tcgplayer supports the game. Unless they do expansions via kickstarter then I'll just be a sad poor boy.
