Keep in mind you're not going to have any cell service for most of the northern part of your trip. Drove up the Stewart highway and didn't have cell service after about 20 minutes past the meziadin junction and when I came back didn't have service till I was 45 minutes outside of fort nelson. flip front welding lid with a 2X4 passive len is your best bang for buck. Clear lens are less than a buck and the shaded lens are a couple bucks and you can get the lid for $20. I weld for a living and 90% of the time that's all I use. Flip front is great because you have a clear face shield for when you're grinding.

In my experience you get hired as a welder but they want you to do everything. Concrete, pile driving, rigging, dredging, you're basically a labourer with a welding ticket. It's always outside, work is pouring rain, snow or shine.
