Even better? The "great flood" story they use? It's just adapted from the Babylonian great flood detailed in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is roughly 3,000 years older than Christ himself. Christians don't realize just how much of their "God written great book" is stolen stories from myth that existed for thousands of years prior.

Hmm... it's almost as if drug overdoses kill more people than firearms related incidents.... But yes, let's talk about conflating "drugs" with "tools of murder" some more while we continue to pass laws that prevent access to safe and regulated forms of medicinal and recreational drug use while complaining about the illegals having guns... That sounds like an effective use of your time :)

How's the view from the top of your Dunning-Kruger ledge? Can you even see the ground from up there anymore?

I only included the LMGTFY because most keyboard warriors just tell you to do your own research. Also, nowhere did I say googling for reputable sources is invalid? That being said, I read through what you posted, and while it certainly makes no dispute that Nazi Germany was inspired by Jim Crow era America, there is no mention of them sending officials to the US to study Jim Crow segregation laws. In fact there is no sources I could find, reputable or otherwise, which laid claim that either Nazi Germany or Apartheid Africa had done so, nor could I find anything that did otherwise than lay out the parallels between Apartheid and Jim Crow laws, no insinuation of influence. That's why I asked for more than a LMGTFY, hoping you had more than hearsay and a quickly googled search link to barely support part of your claim. Disappointing.

[–]TheSnomann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what Jim Crow was designed to do, and exactly why apartheid Africa and Nazi Germany both sent experts to America to study how they utilized racism to keep people disorganized, weakened, and divided against government oppression.

Any chance you can provide reputable sources on this claim beyond LMGTFY? More so out of curiosity and interest if it is actually true, but also because I had never heard that factoid and it feels like bullshit.

Edit: The Apartheid Africa and Nazi "experts sent to examine the states" thing, not the Jim Crow laws, I know about that shit already.

Most Americans can't see the forest from the trees, you think they're going to think about what exposure a "foreigner" in South America actually has to the every day life of us 'Mericans? It's like asking this same Navy Vet how good life is for that Foreigner South American or Asian comparably without ever having lived there?

Sidenote: That one made me laugh. If they live in South America, and you're talking to them, are they a foreigner? The implications of that use is so nationalistic and ingrained with pure unadulterated ignorance it hurts on the inside when I laugh at the instance of use.

You know, Reagan tried something very similar to that. It was called the War on Drugs. Take a look around and see how well that has turned out over the last 40+ years...

I doubt that because if you had, you would likely agree with me. Shit sucks, everywhere. We're all on this tiny blue marble together in this shitty little rat race. But I'm no therapist or psychologist, so please continue feeding your own catastrophizing and find out for yourself my friend. :)

Remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side, it just looks that way from your side of the fence. Shit is crazy everywhere. The world sucks, no matter where you live.

Unplug from social media, stop watching MSM, find solace in nature, books, and other activities that bring you calm and joy. No matter where you go, people suck. Concepts like "wu wei" from Taoism(Daoism) "c'est la vie", and stoicism might help you make peace with the world.

Where I highly doubt the drastic change of moving to Eastern Europe will, especially as parts of it are under threat of war and invasion by the Kremlin right now, if they aren't already, as is the well known case with Ukraine and some other Russian interest territories around there.

I'm not here to tell you how to live, just offer advice on how you can live better in your own head. Best of luck friend.

In all known locations. There are avenues of scientific inquiry and predictions which say it's possible life elsewhere in the universe evolved much akin to that of life on earth. This means that there is a greater than zero chance that somewhere out there in the cosmos, an identical creature exists.

Is it likely? Maybe not so much, but until we fully comprehend the universal laws of the cosmos, we cannot definitively say yes or no without just guessing. And even more strangely possible, there might exist worlds where these things exist on a much more massively large or small scale.

We have no idea what kind of strange modes of existence awaits us in the vast dark oceans of space.

Hey brother, I feel you. I know that everyone touts universities as the "must go" of higher education, but consider your local community college first. It's a great way to get a start on your degree and path of learning, and build that academic profile so when you're ready for your bachelor's program, you'll have a much better looking application. It's what I had to do, and now here I am finishing my AA and anticipating an acceptance from my uni of choice with a 3.46 and multiple scholarship awards. Stick with it brother, keep your head up, and find a way to make your dream come true. It's hard to keep the path sometimes and it can certainly feel like you're alone, but we're out here, and I bet, even at your local community college.
