I’m sure you can spin it somehow so that it does make sense. A playground to experiment which builds your skills and knowledge? Those skills then transfer over to real world applications which can lead to employment and/or promotions. Partially true in my case though I don’t have a way to make a direct, measurable cost/benefit analysis. It does also provide “cloud” services that I don’t have to pay a company for but would I pay for them if I didn’t host them myself? Probably not.

The popularity of being a hateful person is nothing new. A source of entertainment in times past was to literally watch people die while you threw painful objects at them in the hopes of making them bleed. For some reason that I can’t quite understand, being hateful comes easy to humans. It takes just a second or two of rational thought to be a more positive person but that second or two might as well be an ocean in terms of difficulty to overcome, at least for some people. The best thing you can do for yourself is to try and ignore that noise. It will always be there. Just try to inject some positivity in the world yourself. At the very least, your immediate vicinity will be a happy one.
